Requirements
  • Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.
  • Be able to perform heavy or hard work requiring strength or stamina, lifting, moving, stooping, reaching, standing, and walking.
  • Be able to communicate effectively with staff and patients.
  • Be able to adapt to changing environments.
Responsibilities
  • Provide supportive care under the supervision of a registered nurse to promote patient safety and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Observe and report all patient concerns or changes in condition to a registered nurse immediately.
  • Answer patient call bells and relay messages to appropriate personnel.
  • Assist with patient feeding and personal grooming.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment to help prevent or control infections and protect patients, visitors, and employees.
  • Act as a patient sitter as directed.
  • Assist in discharging patients to a vehicle via wheelchair.
  • Organize, prepare, and straighten patient rooms.
  • Assist the department with administrative tasks that support department operations.
Desired Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
