Requirements
  • Three or more years serving as a School Psychologist at the middle-school or high-school level.
  • Three or more years administering standardized cognitive, social-emotional, and adaptive assessments; conducting root-cause analysis; and writing holistic, comprehensive evaluation reports.
  • Solid understanding of state special education law, including the 13 disability categories and the evidence required to evaluate each category.
  • An Ed.S. degree or at least 60 graduate school credits in School Psychology from an accredited university.
  • A valid Colorado Special Service Provider endorsement.
  • Experience serving students of color, students with disabilities, and/or multilingual students.
  • Ability to work flexibly in a changing environment, manage multiple workstreams, and build positive relationships with varied stakeholders.
  • Strong assessment, report-writing, organizational, verbal communication, written communication, and relationship-building skills.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct cognitive and social-emotional assessments in school settings four to five days per week on average.
  • Work with individualized education program teams and participate in evaluation and eligibility meetings.
  • Complete special education initial evaluations and reevaluations, including cognitive and social-emotional assessments, and draft evaluation reports.
  • Support schools and individual cases throughout the network to ensure comprehensive evaluations and appropriate in-school and community supports.
  • Manage several special education evaluations simultaneously across multiple school buildings and schools.
  • Close an average of seven to nine evaluations per month while maintaining a sustainable caseload.
  • Build collaborative relationships with school special education teams and special service providers.
  • Communicate with general education teachers, special education teachers, and special service providers about assessment information and timelines.
  • Communicate with families, outside providers, and comprehensive individualized education program teams.
  • Coordinate certain initial and social-emotional reevaluations while supporting newer special education teachers.
  • Communicate with the Home Office Exceptional Learner and Mental Health teams as needed.
