About the company

Legora builds an AI-powered, collaborative workspace for legal teams. Its platform helps law firms and corporate legal departments conduct research, review, drafting, and end-to-end legal workflows, all within a workspace that includes firm-specific and jurisdiction-specific context. The product works by providing an agentic AI assistant that can handle tasks across the legal process—research, drafting, reviewing, and workflow orchestration—tailored to each firm’s rules and the relevant laws of different jurisdictions. Legora differentiates itself from competitors by serving a very large existing customer base (tens of thousands of lawyers across 1,000+ organizations in 50+ markets), focusing specifically on legal work, and backing its platform with significant capital and big-name investors to scale its US expansion and its agentic workflows. The company’s goal is to broaden adoption of its AI-powered legal workspace globally and to enable efficient, context-aware legal work at scale.

What believers are saying

  • Legora closed $600 million at $5.6 billion, then opened San Francisco and Toronto.
  • Ally Law's nearly 80-firm network is already implementing Legora across 50 countries.
  • More than 100,000 lawyers at 1,500 organizations gives Legora concrete expansion leverage.

What critics are saying

  • Harvey's $11 billion war chest forces a brutal enterprise-sales race for legal AI dominance.
  • Five 2026 acquisitions create integration risk across product, engineering, and customer-support teams.
  • If firms standardize on rival platforms first, Legora becomes an expensive niche point solution.

What makes Legora unique

  • Legora bundles research, drafting, review, and workflow automation in one agentic workspace.
  • Its Wexler acquisition adds fact-intelligence for litigation, strengthening source-traced reasoning over documents.
  • Arabic interface work with Al Tamimi and jurisdictional context deepen localization across markets.

Legora acquires litigation startup Wexler in fifth deal since January

Legora has acquired litigation startup Wexler, whose software helps lawyers reconstruct cases from thousands of documents by tracing statements back to source evidence and identifying conflicts. The acquisition marks Legora's fifth since January as it competes with rival Harvey to dominate the law firm market. London-based Wexler had raised $7 million and secured clients including HSF Kramer, Goodwin Procter, and Clifford Chance. The company claims its software cuts manual document review time by 75 per cent. Wexler cofounder Gregory Mostyn said the startup wasn't seeking a sale but chose to join Legora's platform of over 1,500 customers. Legora was valued at $5.5 billion in March, whilst Harvey is worth $11 billion. The deal reflects consolidation in legal tech as law firms select long-term software partners following years of testing chatbots and other tools.

London's AI talent war heats up as US startups Cursor, Legora and Lovable expand into UK

London's status as Europe's leading tech hub is drawing rapid expansion from fast-growing startups including Cursor, Legora and Lovable. However, their arrival presents challenges for UK homegrown scaleups. The influx of these companies intensifies competition for AI talent in the city, potentially creating recruitment difficulties for established British technology firms. As these startups establish operations in London, they join an increasingly crowded market vying for the same pool of skilled workers. The development highlights London's appeal to international tech companies whilst simultaneously putting pressure on domestic scaleups to compete for personnel in an already competitive labour market.
