About the Job

Requirements

  • A PhD, PharmD, or MD with a specialisation in DMPK, Pharmacometrics, in vivo/Clinical Pharmacology, or a related scientific discipline, or equivalent industry experience in a lead Quantitative Clinical Pharmacology position.
  • Significant pharmaceutical or biotech industry experience in Quantitative Clinical Pharmacology spanning all stages of development, a strong understanding of drug discovery and nonclinical and clinical development, and a proven track record applying Model-Informed Drug Development principles.
  • A strong foundation in in vivo Pharmacology, Clinical Pharmacology principles, and quantitative drug development; demonstrable experience applying advanced quantitative modelling and proficiency in core pharmacometric software such as NONMEM, R, Monolix, WinNonlin, GastroPlus, or SimCyp; data analytics; and emerging AI-enabled approaches to evidence-based decision making.
  • Understanding of the regulatory landscape and how to integrate nonclinical, translational, and clinical data for efficient development.
  • Ability to translate complex quantitative data into actionable strategic messages for cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and senior leadership.
  • Ability to work in a matrixed environment, balance multiple stakeholders, and contribute effectively across teams.
  • Take ownership of work, proactively seek opportunities to contribute, and enable others to do their best work.
  • Communicate openly and directly, give and receive feedback constructively, and handle challenging conversations with respect.
  • Actively seek diverse perspectives, build strong working relationships, and contribute to shared goals across teams.
  • Embrace challenges with openness and resilience, set high standards, and strive to deliver meaningful outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Build and own the clinical pharmacology and pharmacometric capability supporting product development goals, set standards for excellence, and champion innovative approaches to data-informed decisions.
  • Act as the Clinical Pharmacology lead for multiple concurrent programmes across indications and therapeutic modalities; oversee clinical pharmacology input into study design across development, initially focusing on IND-enabling and dedicated Phase 1 clinical pharmacology trials and eventually Phase 2 and 3 trials.
  • Work across Translational Safety, Translational Pharmacology, and Biomarkers to integrate nonclinical and clinical data and continuously improve predictive accuracy.
  • Lead modelling and simulation approaches, including nonclinical-to-clinical PK/PD, DDI risk assessment, PBPK, population PK/PD, and QSP, to characterise developability and exposure-response relationships, support dose and regimen selection, and define quantitative criteria for data-driven decisions.
  • Lead and manage external collaborations and CRO partnerships, ensuring effective execution, clear prioritisation, and delivery against timelines, budgets, and project goals.
  • Author relevant sections of regulatory documents, including Investigator's Brochures, INDs, and NDA/BLA/MAA submissions, and serve as the clinical pharmacology expert in interactions with regulators.
  • Identify and incorporate emerging AI-enabled approaches into clinical pharmacology workflows, using data analytics and evidence-based tools to sharpen decision-making.
  • Interface with cross-functional teams, including DMPK, translational safety and toxicology, biology, clinical operations, and regulatory affairs, to embed clinical pharmacology considerations in development plans.
  • Translate quantitative and biology data into clear, actionable insights and communicate findings to project teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Maintain rigorous documentation standards across modelling packages, protocols, and study reports.
  • Share quantitative expertise across the team and help build the drug discovery organisation.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience across therapeutic modalities, including small molecules, biologics, and novel platforms.

About the Company

Relation Therapeutics

Drug discovery platform using ActiveGraph ML

Relation Therapeutics applies machine learning to speed up drug discovery by building a large-scale ActiveGraph ML platform that maps the functional relationships between genes, proteins, and drugs. Its Lab-in-the-Loop approach uses real cells from proprietary biobanks to generate genomic data that continually trains models and prompts new experiments, making target and candidate selection more data-driven. The platform stands apart by applying ActiveGraph ML at scale in drug discovery and by integrating active learning with experimental validation in biology. The goal is to discover therapeutics for currently untreatable diseases and license successful findings to pharmaceutical companies for development and commercialization.
