Beyond Bank becomes first Australian lender to offer open banking in retail branches with NextGen

Beyond Bank Australia has extended open banking capabilities to its retail branch network in partnership with lending technology provider NextGen. The move makes Beyond Bank the first Australian branch-based lender to implement open banking in its first-party channel, having previously introduced it through brokers. Branch lenders can now send digital consent requests to customers during appointments, enabling secure transfer of financial information from Beyond Bank or other institutions. The data is automatically inserted into loan applications within minutes. The system replaces manual verification processes, reducing assessment tasks from days to minutes. Beyond Bank's partnership with NextGen began in June 2022, with NextGen delivering an end-to-end mortgage origination and assessment experience across channels in 2023.
