Requirements
  • 10+ years experience as a product manager/marketer (ideally for SIS product) or education market manager
  • 2+ years in an education institution (ideally working for a university, community college or K-12 institution); a strong preference for experience in recruiting & admissions, advising, degree planning, registrar, communications, and/or fundraising
  • Intimate knowledge of current higher education products & applications and market needs
  • Understanding of Salesforce products, AppExchange partners, partner consulting capabilities and solutions, and other portfolio of capabilities that can be used to build out the Education Industry Solutions portfolio
  • Strong management and business skills required, along with the ability to present to and collaborate with different levels of management including executive leadership
  • Highly organized, ability to coordinate activities to drive alignment and attainment of goals
  • Skillful in collaboration and diplomacy to ensure smooth working relationships across matrixed teams
  • Able to multitask in a fast paced environment and exercise a high degree of initiative in resolving issues and developing process enhancement recommendations
  • Excellent team player able to work with virtual and global cross functional teams and lead through influence
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Comfortable and effective in small group and large group presentations. Experience and a proven track of participating in industry forums and critical sales cycles. Compelling and accurate writing ability

Responsibilities
  • Partner with the product management teams to determine new product/solution opportunities, lead qualitative and quantitative market and product research activities, build business cases to get internal buy-in & investment, inform solution/product pricing and positioning
  • Partner with product marketing teams to develop messaging and positioning for education products/solutions, including positioning and solutions for existing Salesforce products as well as industry-specific products and partnerships
  • Work with sales, marketing, and solution engineering in developing content for demos, external messaging and development of marketing campaigns
  • Support sales enablement efforts with the development of sales playbooks, enablement programs and trainings, and contributing to enablement activities for sales, sales engineering, and partners
  • Collaborate with sales teams including account executives and sales engineers to support strategic sales opportunities and capture customer stories, lessons learned, critical product gaps, and architectural approaches addressing industry problems
  • Develop relationships with key education partners and customers to help inform decision making and provide advocacy for our solutions in-market
  • Drive awareness around education industry thought leadership, customer success, solutions, assets, partners and customer trailblazers
  • Identify and execute on both short-term and medium-term solutions from within Salesforce’s evolving technology set which can meet immediate education needs and positively impact business objectives, including packaging, bundling, targeted/improved pricing strategies, and sales/marketing enhancements
