Slide Insurance doubles its credit facility to $1.07B with Huntington-led deal

Slide Insurance Holdings, a Tampa-based insurer listed on Nasdaq, has signed a new $1.07 billion credit facility with a syndicate of financial institutions led by Huntington National Bank. It replaces the company's existing $530.4 million agreement. Borrowings initially accrue interest at 3.00%, a 25 basis point improvement on the prior agreement. Slide may use the funds for general corporate purposes, including refinancing existing debt and supporting growth initiatives. "The size of the expanded facility is a testament to the strength of Slide's business model and our balance sheet," said chief financial officer Andy Omiridis.

Huntington's third-quarter common income falls to $680 million.

Huntington's third-quarter common income falls to $680 million. Total revenue slipped to $2.791 billion, while diluted EPS held at 33 cents and net interest margin rose four basis points. Published Oct 22, 2026, 7:03 PM EDT Huntington Bancshares Incorporated reported lower third-quarter income and revenue as average loan balances contracted, while its net interest margin widened and diluted earnings per share held steady. Income applicable to common shareholders was $680 million for the quarter ended Sept. 30, down from $686 million in the quarter ended June 30. Total revenue declined to $2.791 billion from $2.837 billion over the same comparison, a decrease of $46 million. Noninterest income fell 8% to $722 million, reflecting lower capital markets fees and unfavorable equity valuation adjustments. Net interest income rose 1% to $2.069 billion. The fully taxable-equivalent net interest margin increased four basis points to 3.25%, supported by higher yields on investment securities and modestly lower funding costs. Average loans and leases decreased 0.4% to $188.449 billion. Lower commercial real estate and consumer balances drove the decline, partly offset by growth in commercial and industrial loans. Average deposits rose $413 million to $223.816 billion. Diluted earnings per share remained at 33 cents. Adjusted EPS, a non-GAAP measure that excludes items Huntington classifies as notable, fell to 38 cents from 39 cents in the prior quarter. Huntington had revised its 2026 outlook on Sept. 16. It lowered its projected net interest income growth to about 35%, from a previous range of 39% to 43%, and its implied revenue growth forecast to about 34%, from about 37%. The bank also trimmed its average loan growth outlook to about 36%, from a range of 36% to 37%, and average deposit growth to about 33%, from 33% to 34%. The outlook update cited lower-than-expected loan volume, commercial real estate and residential loan paydowns, lower auto production and pressure from deposit costs amid sustained high short-term rates. The Oct. 22 earnings release included no new numerical guidance for 2026. "Huntington delivered a solid quarter, reflecting disciplined execution and continued business momentum across the franchise," Chairman and CEO Steve Steinour said. Headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, Huntington is a regional bank holding company with $288 billion in assets and about 1,400 branches across 21 states. John Kim. Huntington reports Q3 net interest income of $2.05B as Veritex and Cadence deals deliver synergies

Huntington Bancshares Incorporated reported third-quarter 2026 results, with net interest income of $2,052 million, up from $1,506 million in the same quarter a year earlier. Return on average assets was 1.01%, against 1.02% in the second quarter and 1.19% a year ago. Chairman and chief executive officer Steve Steinour called it "a solid quarter." He said the Columbus, Ohio, bank is seeing growing benefits from its partnerships with Veritex and Cadence, and is meeting its cost and revenue synergy targets. The provision for income taxes was $172 million, compared with $165 million in the second quarter. The effective tax rate rose to 19.3% from 18.4%, mainly because of higher non-deductible expenses. Huntington has $288 billion in assets and about 1,400 branches in 21 states.

Huntington Bank partners Google Cloud on AI small business platform.

Huntington Bank partners Google Cloud on AI small business platform. The Huntington National Bank has unveiled an AI-powered operating system for small businesses built on Google Cloud's Gemini Enterprise, as reported by Finextra. Rollout timing, pricing and scope remain unconfirmed in the reporting reviewed. What happened. The Huntington National Bank has unveiled an AI-powered operating system for small businesses, built on Google Cloud's Gemini Enterprise platform. The partnership was reported by Finextra under the headline "Huntington Bank partners Google Cloud for AI-powered small business operating system." The launch places a generative AI platform at the centre of a bank's small business offer, rather than as a standalone feature. The reporting Renascence reviewed does not yet specify rollout timing, pricing, or which functions the system covers, so the scope of the release should be confirmed against the bank's and Google Cloud's own announcements. Why it matters. The word "operating system" signals ambition. It suggests an orchestration layer that connects everyday business tasks, rather than a chatbot or a single assistant bolted onto an existing app. For banks, that is a meaningful shift in the operating model: the product becomes a workflow environment, and the bank's role moves closer to that of a daily business partner. For leaders in digital transformation, the more useful question is how such a platform changes the way the bank itself is organised. Connecting AI to customer-facing services usually requires clean data, clear decision rights and new service standards. Those internal changes often matter more to the customer than the interface. The renascence take. Most coverage of launches like this will focus on the AI capability. The more consequential design choice is the small business customer's workload, which rarely arrives in neat, bank-shaped categories. Owners move between payments, payroll, supplier questions and compliance in the same hour, and an operating system only earns its place if it reduces that switching cost. The real test is whether small business owners stop noticing the platform and simply get their work done. Operators should map the top ten tasks a customer completes each week and measure how many steps the AI removes, not how many features it adds. If the system only answers questions, it is a help desk; if it completes tasks, it is an operating system. Renascence's view is that trust will depend on transparency about what the AI does on the customer's behalf, and that is a design problem as much as a technology one.
