Requirements
  • A strong background in unexploded ordnance operations with specific experience in quality control.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance and quality control processes in high-risk environments.
  • Knowledge of relevant Department of Defense standards, including Department of Defense Explosives Safety Board Technical Paper 18.
  • At least 7 years of experience in unexploded ordnance operations, including 3 years in a quality-control role.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • UXO Technician III or IV certification and Quality Control Certification.
  • Keen attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Adobe.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure that all unexploded ordnance operations comply with quality standards and project specifications.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of unexploded ordnance activities to verify adherence to safety and operational protocols.
  • Review and approve unexploded ordnance documentation, including inspection reports, disposal records, and safety logs.
  • Identify areas for improvement in unexploded ordnance processes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Work closely with the Senior UXO Supervisor and UXO Safety Officer to ensure integrated quality-control and safety measures.
  • Ensure quality control in unexploded ordnance operations, conduct inspections, and maintain documentation.
  • Oversee and verify the quality of unexploded ordnance operations so that activities meet required safety and operational standards.
  • Comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including Department of Defense ammunition and explosives hazard-classification procedures.
  • Ensure duties are performed competently and professionally in accordance with milestones and delivery schedules.
  • Complete regulatory and mandatory training requirements.
  • Obtain or support permits and licenses necessary to conduct the contract work, including environmental, building, discharge, radiation-activity, and transportation permits where applicable.
