Requirements
  • Meet all DoD SkillBridge qualifications set forth in DODI 1322.29.
  • Have served at least 180 days on active duty.
  • Be within 180 days of separation or retirement.
  • Receive an honorable discharge.
  • Have taken service Transition Assistance Program or Transition Goals, Plans, Success training.
  • Have attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months.
  • Receive written authorization and approval from the Unit Commander before the internship starts.
  • Be a U.S. citizen.
  • Hold an active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information clearance with polygraph.
  • Be able to report daily to the Columbia, Maryland office.
  • Have a minimum of six years of experience performing data analysis on collected information to identify unique insights and intelligence opportunities within the data.
  • Have experience in at least two of the following areas: mathematics or statistics; computer science; scripting; cloud computing; data mining, metadata analysis, or machine learning; artificial intelligence; data visualization or data automation; data science; advanced analytical algorithms; statistical analysis; data management; data modeling and assessment; or software engineering.
  • Have experience constructing and performing complex database search queries.
  • Have experience or knowledge of computer science concepts.
Responsibilities
  • Participate in a 90- to 180-day DoD SkillBridge internship providing civilian training and work experience.
Desired Qualifications
  • Ideal candidates would come from one of the listed military occupational skill communities: Air Force 1N4; Marine 2611 or 2629; Army 35N, 352N, 17C, or 170A; Navy CTR or CTN communities with the listed codes.
  • Experience or familiarity with data analytics and advanced scripting languages and tools including Python, SQL, Jupyter, Pig, ELK Stack, Splunk, PowerBI, and Jupyter Notebooks.
