Requirements
  • A High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
  • Two to three years of heavy equipment mechanic experience is required.
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to drive for company business are required.
  • The candidate must be reliable and able to work independently.
  • Knowledge of diesel technology, electronics, transmissions, and hydraulics is required.
  • The candidate must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand or walk for extended periods on project sites, climb in and out of equipment, and work in confined spaces or at heights.
  • The candidate must use required personal protective equipment, including protective eyewear, gloves, a hard hat, and steel-toed boots, and follow safety protocols.
  • The candidate must be willing to travel and work overtime as needed within labor law guidelines.
Responsibilities
  • Analyze and diagnose equipment malfunctions.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on company-owned and rental fleet equipment.
  • Repair and troubleshoot engines, fuel systems, final drives, hydraulic components including pumps, motors, and valves, as well as electrical and air systems.
  • Write service reports that accurately document activities.
  • Prepare work orders, parts lists, and timecards accurately and timely.
  • Follow manufacturer and company service guidelines and procedures to ensure safe, quality work and preserve and document component failure information for accurate failure analysis.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and observe all safety procedures, laws, policies, and rules.
  • Communicate with equipment managers and field managers to promote positive working relationships.
  • Perform fabrication and manage tool inventory.
  • Fuel and grease equipment and assist with basic in-house mechanic duties.
  • Perform additional assignments and special projects as directed.
Desired Qualifications
  • Owned tools are preferred.
  • Competent Person Safety Training is preferred.
  • First Aid and CPR training are preferred.
