Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Nursing degree is preferred; registered nurse staff hired on or after July 1, 2013 with an Associate or Diploma degree in nursing must enroll in an accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing program within two years and successfully obtain the degree within four years of the hire or reclassification date.
  • A minimum of one year of work experience as a registered nurse is required.
  • Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state is required.
  • Current Basic Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support are required, with certification from the American Heart Association or an American Red Cross equivalent.
  • The role requires the ability to stand or sit for extended periods, navigate clinical environments, perform manual dexterity and fine motor tasks, lift and move patients or medical equipment, and maintain visual and auditory acuity.
  • The role requires compliance with infection control protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment.
Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients using the principles and practices of the nursing process.
  • Deliver safe and effective care and interact with other members of the healthcare team to achieve desired results.
  • Provide nursing care using assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Direct and lead assigned team members and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide age- and developmentally appropriate care in accordance with nursing standards.
  • Provide patient- and family-centered care addressing physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, religious, and environmental needs.
  • Perform nursing diagnoses, outcome identification, care planning, intervention implementation, care coordination, health teaching and promotion, and evaluation of goals and interventions consistent with organizational policies.
  • Maintain a safe, therapeutic, and healing environment through patient privacy and responsive, respectful, accepting, and professional behavior.
  • Participate in shared governance, peer review, professional development, and a professional practice model that promotes leadership and clinical excellence.
  • Coordinate effective and efficient patient care services through care management principles.
  • Identify clinical priorities and initiate actions to improve patient outcomes.
  • Promote a healthy work environment and accept responsibility for professional growth.
  • Work rotating shifts and overtime as required.
