Level Access partnership strengthens BiblioCommons' commitment to digital accessibility. Toronto, ON - September 3, 2026. BiblioCommons is expanding its commitment to accessible digital library experiences through a three-year partnership with Level Access, an independent provider of digital accessibility solutions and services. The partnership brings independent evaluation, expert guidance, and validation to help BiblioCommons continue advancing accessibility across its products. Accessibility has long been part of how BiblioCommons designs, develops, and tests digital experiences for public libraries and the communities they serve. Through the partnership, BiblioCommons is adding a structured program of independent audits, remediation, and ongoing evaluation to its existing accessibility practices. "Libraries have always been committed to making information and services accessible to everyone in their communities, including their digital spaces," said Yasmary Mora, Director of Product at BiblioCommons. "As libraries prepare for Title II compliance, they need confidence that the technology they rely on is evolving alongside accessibility requirements. Our partnership with Level Access provides independent expertise and a clear process for evaluating where we are today, identifying where we need to improve, and continuing that work over time." Level Access will conduct a comprehensive accessibility audit across BiblioCommons' digital library platform and provide guidance to inform remediation priorities. The first audit cycle is underway and will continue over the coming months, followed by remediation supported and validated by Level Access accessibility experts and testers, including testers with disabilities. BiblioCommons will publish an updated Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) informed by the independent audit, along with a product accessibility roadmap outlining planned remediation work and timelines. This audit-to-remediation cycle will be repeated annually throughout the three-year partnership, allowing BiblioCommons to assess progress, respond to evolving accessibility standards, and inform ongoing improvements. Building accessibility into the product experience. BiblioCommons continues to strengthen the accessibility of existing products toward WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance, while new product development targets WCAG 2.2 standards. For libraries, the partnership will provide greater visibility into the accessibility of the technology they rely on. The upcoming VPAT, audit findings, and remediation roadmap will offer a transparent view of current accessibility, planned improvements, and BiblioCommons' ongoing investment in accessible digital experiences. BiblioCommons' Accessibility Statement provides additional information about its approach to building accessible products and supporting inclusive digital library experiences. About BiblioCommons. BiblioCommons builds software that transforms the public library's essential online services - catalog, mobile app, website, events calendar, and email marketing - from transactions to experiences worthy of the public library. BiblioCommons powers integrated online experiences for many of the top public libraries of all sizes across the United States and Canada. | Summary: | BiblioCommons is expanding its commitment to accessible digital library experiences through a three-year partnership with Level Access, an independent provider of digital accessibility solutions and services. BiblioCommons has acquired StackMap, a library mapping services company. The acquisition provides StackMap with additional resources to support its continued growth whilst exploring ways to strengthen its platform and connect digital discovery with the physical library experience. StackMap will continue to operate under its existing name with the same team and products. There are no immediate changes to services, pricing, billing, or integrations for current customers. All existing contracts remain valid with unchanged terms and renewal dates. StackMap will maintain its independence and continue supporting integrations across various catalogue and discovery systems, not exclusively BiblioCommons products. Libraries do not need to be BiblioCommons customers to use StackMap services. Lex, StackMap's founder, will remain with BiblioCommons as General Manager of a new initiative focused on library user technology. Marty Tarle, General Manager of BiblioCommons, will lead StackMap operations.
