  • Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant on the Georgia Registry, or certification as a Certified Medical Assistant awarded by the American Association of Medical Assistants, or registration as a Registered Medical Assistant awarded by the American Medical Technologists, or certification as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant awarded by the National Healthcareer Association.
  • Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
  • Must have one year of patient care experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant, Patient Care Technician, military medic, emergency department technician, or in other relevant acute, direct patient care.
  • Must have visual color acuity depending on the role in specific units.
Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing assistance and patient care for the comfort, safety, and personal needs of patients.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living and perform procedures for patients’ physical hygiene and comfort.
  • Perform duties within a unit-based, self-directed, multidisciplinary patient care team while sharing various tasks with licensed and non-licensed team members.
  • Perform general clerical and reception duties according to the needs of the patient unit or department.
  • Prepare and maintain patient charts, transcribe physician orders, and enter information into a computerized patient care system.
