- At least 18 years of age.
- A high school degree or equivalent is required.
- Maintain a positive image of the entity in the community in alignment with its mission, vision, and values.
- Provide on-call services as assigned.
- Perform cleaning tasks in assigned skilled nursing, assisted living, and independent living areas, including disinfecting, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, removing garbage or hazardous waste, cleaning furniture, windows, stairs, doors, and bathrooms, and removing soiled linens.
- Cross-train to work in all areas of the community.
- Perform periodic tasks such as wall washing, drapery and curtain washing, and cleaning vents and blinds.
- Clean unexpected accidents, spills, blood, and body waste.
- Operate floor-cleaning machines, buffers, and wet/dry vacuums.
- Use Material Safety Data Sheet information for housekeeping areas.
- Know safety codes, including fire, tornado, and disaster procedures.
- Use chemicals, disinfectants, equipment, and supplies appropriately in all areas of the hospital and clinics.
- Use personal protective equipment when dealing with blood and body fluids, following standard universal precautions.
- Read and adhere to the resident rights agreement and report violations immediately.
- Perform only tasks for which trained and do not operate equipment without proper instruction.
- Maintain a calm, composed attitude when dealing with difficult residents and families.
- Maintain good attendance and take breaks as assigned.
- Work cooperatively with all disciplines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
