Insomniac & Amsterdam Dance Event announce "Map Point Summit" Conference at EDC Las Vegas 2027. Insomniac and Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) are joining forces for a new electronic music conference during EDC Las Vegas 2027. The partnership was revealed today, October 22, during Insomniac founder and CEO Pasquale Rotella's keynote appearance at ADE Pro, where he joined Billboard's Katie Bain for a discussion on the future of rave culture and the need for an industry of its own. During the conversation, Rotella invited ADE managing director Jan-Willem van de Ven onstage to announce that the American dance music powerhouse and renowned Dutch industry conference will collaborate on Map Point Summit, a new gathering taking place during EDC week in Las Vegas next May. Previously announced as part of EDC's expanded 2027 programming, Map Point Summit will bring together electronic music professionals, creatives, and members of the rave community. Today's announcement marks the first confirmation of ADE's involvement in the project. The summit takes its name from the underground rave tradition of using a series of "map points" to guide partygoers to secret locations. Drawing on that history, the conference aims to help attendees find their footing in electronic music, build industry connections, and contribute to the culture's future. Set to take place at Hotel EDC, Map Point Summit joins a major expansion of the flagship dance music festival, which will stretch across two weekends at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the first time in 2027. EDC Dusk will run May 14-16, followed by EDC Dawn on May 21-23, as part of a 12-day "Dusk Till Dawn" experience featuring additional events throughout Las Vegas from May 13-24. Further details on the summit's programming and ticket sales have yet to be announced. ADE continues through October 25 with over 1,300 live music, education, and networking events across the Dutch capital.
Insomniac partners with Amsterdam Dance Event to launch Las Vegas conference for Rave Culture. ADE is taking its time-tested conference playbook to Sin City, where it will co-produce a three-day industry event with Insomniac called Map Point Summit. The promoter that grew EDC into a global brand now wants to build a business ecosystem around rave culture, and its first step is a three-day summit in Las Vegas co-produced with Amsterdam Dance Event, the world's largest electronic music conference. The organizations today announced they are set to debut a new industry gathering, Map Point Summit, in Las Vegas in May 2027. The conference will take place at Virgin Hotels, timed to fill in the gap between the two weekends of Insomniac's most popular festival, EDC Las Vegas. EDC's 'Dusk' weekend runs May 14-16 and its 'Dawn' weekend runs May 21-23. The name nods to the early days of underground raving, when party locations were kept under wraps, according to a press release. Attendees would first show up at a designated meeting spot, called a "map point," where organizers handed out directions to the actual venue. Insomniac says the summit is meant to serve a similar function for newcomers trying to find a way into the EDM scene. Founder and CEO Pasquale Rotella revealed the project during a keynote at ADE's 30th edition, which is currently underway in Amsterdam. The session, titled 'The Future of Rave Culture and Why It Needs Its Own Industry,' explored the pressures facing independent promoters and Rotella argued that rave culture will only survive over the long term if it develops a stronger business ecosystem of its own. "Rave culture was built by ravers, for ravers," Rotella said. "It started as a grassroots, community-driven movement with its own values, spirit, and way of doing things. As its scene has grown, I believe it's become increasingly important to protect what made it special in the first place. That's why Map Point Summit means so much to me. "We need to support independent promoters, share knowledge, create opportunities for the next generation, and work together to build an industry that allows rave culture to thrive on its own terms. I'm excited to partner with ADE to help bring that vision to life." The program is expected to include panel discussions, educational sessions, creative workshops and networking. Speakers, programming and ticketing have yet to be announced. About jason heffler. Jason is the Managing Editor of EDM.com. A new permanent base for Insomniac in Las Vegas. The property at 800 Liberace Avenue is the former Sahara Event Center in the Commercial Center district, east of the Las Vegas Strip. Insomniac's interest appears to extend beyond simply operating another event space. Segerblom told FOX5 that the promoter views Las Vegas as its home base and described the Commercial Center development as part of a broader presence that could extend beyond the event center itself. EDM.com reported on September 23 that Insomniac's planned investment would be used to transform the existing event center as Clark County continues efforts to revitalize the surrounding Commercial Center district. The redevelopment initiative predates the Insomniac agreement. Clark County says a May 2025 vision and redevelopment plan for Commercial Center called for the southwest portion of the district to become a destination for entertainment, arts and culture. Insomniac deepens its Las Vegas footprint. Las Vegas has long been one of Insomniac's most important markets. Electric Daisy Carnival relocated from Los Angeles to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway in 2011, establishing the city as the home of the promoter's flagship festival. Insomniac has since built a substantial presence around EDC Week and other electronic music events in the market, but redevelopment of 800 Liberace Avenue would represent something different: a physical venue project connected directly to the promoter rather than a festival staged at an existing property. That distinction makes the Commercial Center project particularly significant for the electronic music industry. Major promoters increasingly operate across multiple parts of the live-event business, and control or long-term operation of venues can provide greater flexibility over calendars, production, branding and programming. What happens next. Several important details remain unresolved. The Clark County Redevelopment Agency must still approve a formal agreement with Insomniac before any of the county's allocated funds can be distributed. That agreement is expected to define the redevelopment activities as well as the expenses eligible for reimbursement. Detailed plans for the venue's eventual capacity, opening schedule, programming strategy and operating structure have not yet been publicly finalized. The project nevertheless signals a potentially important expansion of Insomniac's role in the Las Vegas live-entertainment market. Rather than relying exclusively on festivals, club partnerships and temporary event sites, the company could gain a dedicated venue capable of hosting live music and special events throughout the year. For one of the largest electronic music promoters in the United States, the redevelopment of 800 Liberace Avenue could mark another step toward establishing a more permanent physical footprint in the city that has become synonymous with its flagship festival.
