Job Description

Rockwell Automation’s Technical Sales and Consulting Internship Program is a world-class, 12-week internship consisting of a combination of sales, technical, and professional training that take place in both classroom and on-the-job settings. Join a cohort of peers from all over the world and embark on a journey to become a trusted outcome-based seller. Sales interns are placed in one of our 30+ field sales offices across North America.
Three potential tracks available
- Business Development Representatives will develop and qualify new revenue opportunities. You’ll work with Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing teams to develop targeted strategies and messaging to guide opportunities for new business and expansion accounts. You will typically work with customers by phone and digital methods, including email and online remote meetings.
- Account Managers develop and implement sales strategies and plans to meet goals and grow market share. You will work with customers in a face-to-face setting.
- Domain Experts are technical resources for Rockwell Automation technology and products within their area(s) of expertise and explain our portfolio to customers. You will work with customers in a mix of face-to-face and online remote meetings.

- Talk to customers. You are the face of our company to our customers. How you communicate and work with them creates the positive experience. You will understand what drives their business and resolve issues.
- Make us all smarter. You will gather customer and business insights about your customers’ organization and connect that insight to opportunities for comprehensive solutions.
- Network and build relationships. Your goal is to open doors up and across your customers’ organizations, build relationships with individuals from the plant floor to the C-suite.
- Influence decisions. You’ll qualify customer opportunities, engage resources, and coordinate the solution design and presentation so the customer chooses our solution for all the right reasons.
- Become the subject matter expert that our customers need. You will become knowledgeable in your area of focus including identifying and explaining potential use cases, technical requirements, and competitive differentiation

Basic qualifications
- Must be pursuing a bachelor’s or advanced degree from an accredited college or university
- Must have completed at least your freshman year of college or university
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75
- Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
Preferred qualifications
- Pursuing a bachelor’s or advanced degree in Engineering or Business
- Have a personal vehicle to use for the duration of the internship (Account Manager and Domain Expert tracks only; Business Development Representative track does NOT require a vehicle)
- Previous intern experience with Rockwell Automation, our Partner Network, or our customers.

For this role, the Base Salary Compensation is from $20-40/hour. Our benefits for the US can be found here. Actual pay will be based on factors such as skills, education, and experience.
