Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of previous experience working in a steel manufacturing setting is required.
- Strong attention to detail is required.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints is required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude is required.
- Skilled at troubleshooting and resolving problems that arise is required.
- Ability to work independently and closely follow directions is essential.
- A positive and professional attitude is required.
- Ability to work in a shop environment for periods of time is required.
- Adherence to all safety requirements and protocols is required.
- A High School Diploma is required.
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with co-workers, other departments, and managers is required.
Responsibilities
- Support all company safety policies to ensure they are followed and personnel and property are kept safe.
- Read technical drawings and guide the setup of machines in accordance with the blueprints.
- Use computer software to model cutting paths and program CNC plasma and flame-cutting machines accordingly.
- Program and oversee quality assurance tests to ensure products meet design specifications.
- Adjust machine cutting paths or settings to optimize production while maintaining quality.
- Consider the tools required to cut materials and program machines accordingly.
- Troubleshoot and resolve machine problems as they arise.
- Perform additional responsibilities or duties as needed in support of company operations.
- Promote the company safety culture with the team.
