About the job
- A GED or high school diploma is required.
- Bilingual Spanish and English is preferred.
- Prior experience working with young children is preferred.
- Immunization records must comply with Senate Bill 792, covering immunity for measles, pertussis, and influenza.
- Must be a mandated abuse reporter.
- Must be able to work within Kidango’s core hours and a flexible work schedule.
- Six early childhood education units are required.
- Must pass a health screening and tuberculosis test.
- Must pass background fingerprint clearance.
- Must have a valid driver license.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds as needed for job duties.
- Must use hands for computer work and answering phone calls; reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.
- Assist in planning, preparing, and implementing daily lessons and activities aligned with early childhood development goals.
- Assist in planning and preparing the learning environment and preparing needed materials and supplies.
- Supervise and engage children during classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, and transitions.
- Support children with diverse learning needs, including children with disabilities or language barriers.
- Assist in the Desired Results process.
- Observe and document child behavior and developmental progress as directed.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
- Assume responsibility for regular parent communication as directed by a supervisor.
- Assume general responsibility for the health, safety, and well-being of all children in the agency.
- Assist with diapering, toileting, and personal care as needed.
- Support volunteers as requested.
- Attend meetings as requested.
- Greet children, parents, staff, and guests as needed.
- Follow all licensing regulations and health and safety protocols.
- Assist other centers when requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
