Indie dev says Sony suddenly ended their publishing deal without "any reason," delisting their games and cancelling PS5 port of Steam game with 97% 'overwhelmingly positive' reviews, won't explain or respond "in any way" Published 5 hours ago The games will leave the PS Store on August 23 It appears Sony has unilaterally cut ties with Ukrainian developer Ternox Games. The company, most notable for anime stock market sim Stonks-9800, claims there's been no explanation from the PlayStation manufacturer over the decision, which will result in its games being delisted and at least one port being canceled. Ternox Games made the announcement on August 17, saying its deal with Sony had been unceremoniously canceled. "Sony PlayStation unilaterally terminated my PlayStation developer and publisher agreement without giving me any reason," the dev writes on Twitter. "PlayStation Support refuses to listen to my arguments or even respond to my emails in any way," it adds. Latest Videos FromGamesRadar+ Stonks-9800 was slated for a PlayStation 5 version, but that's off the table. A shame, because it's a fun, inventive game that could attract a whole other audience on Sony's system. Essentially, you play as a Japanese salary man who's trying to use stocks to make his way up in the world. The visuals are heavily influenced by '80s anime, and it's largely text-based. It has over 1,380 reviews on Steam, and 97% of those are positive. Getting on the PS Store would've widened Ternox's potential audience considerably, while offering more fascinating games for the users there. The plan was to do a PS5 disc version in 2027, just ahead of Sony ceasing production on physical games. Since that's no longer feasible, Ternox promises to "do my best" to do physical releases on PC and Nintendo Switch. A total of 13 earlier releases from Ternox are already available on the PS Store, but you only have until August 23 to get them. These are a mix of in-house releases and from outside developers. Sony made PSSR upscaling better by reducing AI workload.

Sony made PSSR upscaling better by reducing AI workload. Sony Interactive Entertainment's upgraded PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, often referred to as PSSR 2, improves on the original upscaling model by making the AI do less. At SIGGRAPH 2026, Daniel Craig, Principal Software Engineer at Sony Interactive Entertainment, detailed the redesign behind the upgraded PSSR on PlayStation 5 Pro. Instead of expanding the neural network, the new upscaling algorithm actually functions with a reduced AI workload. The first iteration of PSSR placed almost the entire reconstruction pipeline inside a Color-Predicting Network (CPN), with the model directly predicting output color, forcing the network to learn tasks that could be handled efficiently through conventional, closed-form graphics operations. Sony Interactive Entertainment and AMD engineers found that this approach created problems ranging from HDR handling to temporal reconstruction and high upscale ratios. For the upgraded version, Sony Interactive Entertainment restored much of the conventional reconstruction pipeline and narrowed the AI's role to pattern recognition and decision-making. The CPN was replaced by a Kernel-Predicting Network (KPN), which predicts blend weights rather than final pixel colors. The actual blending is then directly performed. Because the model no longer had to implicitly manipulate HDR color, it could use its capacity more efficiently. A redesigned connection to the history data also improved gradient flow, allowing the network to learn much longer temporal relationships. Sony Interactive Entertainment and AMD engineers additionally introduced an input-space elliptical Gaussian filter designed to remain effective as the upscale ratio increases, addressing the original model's problematic 2.5x and 3x image reconstruction. The results presented by Craig showed how the upgraded model improves image quality and temporal stability, particularly at lower input resolutions, alongside reduced GPU time and memory usage. Training time also fell dramatically, from roughly 4 GPU-months for launch PSSR to less than 1 GPU-week for PSSR 2. An upcoming firmware update will enable the "Enhance PSSR Image Quality" toggle on PS5 Pro, allowing PSSR2 to override the original upscaling model in supported games by default. Read about it here.

You'll accept bounties in order to start new runs, where taking down enemies will earn you perks, as well as unlock additional characters to play as. Gematsu'll have much more to show soon, but as you can see in the trailer today, Atsu is a master with the dual katana, while Oyuki excels with the kusarigama, and Nagato shines with a yari. Gematsu love to watch the amazing combat reels that have been shared with Gematsu on social media, and can't wait to see you all try to perfect these runs. Purchase Options If you haven't experienced Atsu's journey yet, you can purchase Ghost of Yotei Complete Edition for $69.99 USD.
