Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with experience focused on facilities power systems.
  • At least 5 years of engineering experience with facilities power-system design.
  • Experience with low-voltage equipment for power distribution.
  • Experience applying the National Electrical Code, NFPA 70E, and local codes.
  • Experience with short-circuit, protective-device coordination, arc-flash, motor-starting, and power-quality studies.
  • Experience using power-system software such as SKM and ETAP, or other power-system modeling software.
  • Knowledge and use of proper drafting techniques, including experience using AutoCAD.
  • Ability to read and extract information from project plans and specifications.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, verbally and in writing, with customers and coworkers.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and periodic, unannounced random drug tests.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to maintain a good driving record.
  • Availability for periodic domestic travel.
Responsibilities
  • Lead multiple simultaneous complex electrical projects and provide technical expertise for power-distribution solutions.
  • Grow the electrical engineering services as a Senior Electrical Engineer.
  • Mentor less experienced electrical engineers in supporting customers.
  • Ensure electrical engineering analysis, troubleshooting, and studies comply with IEEE and NFPA standards.
  • Review and approve ongoing and completed engineering work, ensuring deadlines, accuracy, and quality.
  • Visit customer sites, gather critical information, resolve project issues and customer concerns, and review engineering plans.
  • Work with sales and support staff on estimating and bidding new projects and co-present project proposals to prospective customers.
  • Collaborate with and lead mechanical, civil, structural, and architectural team members.
  • Develop detailed design drawings and construction documents for facilities projects, including 480-volt-and-below systems, UPS systems, generators, switchgear buses, and other distribution systems.
  • Develop one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, and control schematics.
  • Prepare executive-level presentations and project budgets.
  • Perform redundancy, reliability, and load-calculation projections.
  • Prepare system-operations documents for data centers and similar electrical systems.
  • Prepare project commissioning plans and scripts, execute commissioning activities with technical staff, and complete commissioning documentation and reports.
  • Perform short-circuit studies, protective-device coordination, arc-flash analysis, and load-flow calculations.
  • Design and modify electrical distribution systems, including motor-control centers, switchgear, breakers, fuses, and transformers.
  • Create, review, and revise complete electrical packages and specifications.
  • Lead engineering projects from concept to completion while meeting timeline, budget, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with internal and external teams, clients, and contractors to define project requirements and expectations.
  • Diagnose electrical-system issues and develop practical solutions to resolve system deficiencies.
