Job Description

Anesthesia Technician Supervisors are responsible for the following (includes but is not limited to):

• Plans, Directs and Coordinates care
• Recruits, interviews and selects staff for the unit.
• Provides leadership and direction in implementation of strategic goals and objectives.
• Develops, implements and evaluates unit policies, procedures and goals, which are consistent with department and organizational goals.
• Assists with the completion of regular performance evaluations for each staff member and serves as a clinical resource regarding policies and procedures, patient standards, performance improvement, and risk management issues.
• Assists with the completion of evaluations for new staff prior to completion of probationary period with input from appropriate staff.
• Demonstrates effective conflict resolution skills.
• Develops staff engagement opportunities
• Counsels’ employees and utilizes the disciplinary process as appropriate.
• Develops and monitors staff schedules to ensure adequate staffing to meet patient care needs and maintain quality patient care across various locations making staffing adjustments as necessary based on service needs
• Ensures all staff schedules are published and posted across all locations for visibility among the surgical service care team.  
• Coordinates regular team meetings; Provides ongoing communication and status updates related to departmental projects and process improvement initiatives.

Anesthesia Technician Supervisors supervise the department’s anesthesia technicians with a direct reporting structure.The Supervisor Anesthesia Techs assists with coordination and oversight of work and work assignments for staff.They have responsibility for overseeing quality control in the department including diagnosing and troubleshooting technical problems and the management of anesthesia equipment.They demonstrate the Jefferson leadership philosophy, lead a staff and assist the department manager with human resources, including staff planning, team building and performance management that foster excellence and teamwork.The Supervisor Anesthesia Techs maintains a high level of internal visibility in the supervision of the department and is responsible for assisting with staff training and development, recruitment, performance appraisals, coaching, mentoring and disciplinary actions for directs reports.In addition to leadership responsibilities, they maintain their clinical skills and perform all functions of an anesthesia technician as necessary to support departmental staffing needs.

Qualifications for this position include:

• High School Diploma required
• ASATT certification or equivalent experience is preferred
• 3-5 Years of Anesthesia Tech Experience

Salary Range

$42,807.84 to $61,001.17

The actual hiring rate will be determined based on candidate experience, skills and qualifications. This position is not eligible for an annual incentive.
