About the Job

Requirements

  • An MSc in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field, with at least 5 years of professional experience in high-voltage electronics.
  • Proven expertise in designing high-voltage electronics (250V+), high-voltage topologies, switching architectures, power management, and low-noise power supplies.
  • Advanced analog circuit design skills, including precision measurement, sensor interfaces and signal conditioning, low-noise amplifier design, and transimpedance circuits.
  • Advanced proficiency with circuit simulation and PCB design tools such as LTSpice and Altium.
  • Understanding of high-speed signal design, including signal integrity, timing analysis, and EMI/EMC principles for noise mitigation in high-voltage switching environments.
  • Experience designing embedded control hardware for power electronics, including microcontroller interfaces (ADC, PWM, GPIO), protection circuits (overcurrent/overvoltage detection), fault handling, and safe-state transitions.
  • Experience designing serial communication hardware (RS485, UART) with appropriate isolation, impedance matching, and protection.
  • Ability to work with firmware engineers to define hardware interfaces and protection circuits, acquire telemetry, and develop joint verification test cases.
  • Ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full design lifecycle of flight hardware, from initial schematics and component selection through bring-up, functional and environmental testing, launch, and on-orbit operations, creating a continuous learning and improvement loop.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the complete AOCS system, including how power electronics, control systems, and spacecraft subsystems interact.
  • Lead the design of power electronics and control electronics for AOCS hardware, including power conversion, distribution, and precision control circuits.
  • Design and optimize power electronics for efficiency, thermal management, and performance across operational environments.
  • Develop precision analog and data acquisition circuits for power measurement, voltage and current monitoring, signal conditioning, and feedback control.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues throughout design, prototyping, manufacturing, field operation, and on-orbit operations.
  • Work with firmware engineers, FPGA engineers, software developers, and mechanical and thermal engineers to ensure seamless integration.
  • Mentor junior engineers to improve design and testing practices.

Desired Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with environmental testing (vibration, thermal, radiation, and vacuum) and harsh operating conditions.
  • Fundamental understanding of control systems, feedback loops, and closed-loop circuit design.
  • Experience designing solenoid valve driver circuits for high-current on/off switching, including flyback protection and inductive load management.
  • Experience with wide-bandgap semiconductor technologies, including GaN and SiC MOSFETs.
  • Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM) and cost optimization.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C and Python for firmware integration or hardware characterization.

About the Company

ICEYE

SAR satellite constellation for Earth monitoring

ICEYE builds and operates the world’s largest synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite constellation to monitor the Earth continuously, day or night and in any weather. Its SAR satellites capture radar imagery that can see through clouds and darkness, giving customers in defence and intelligence, insurance, emergency management, and environmental monitoring a persistent view of wide areas. Images and analytics are delivered from a network of satellites and, increasingly, sovereign constellations that governments can operate themselves. ICEYE plans to scale up production toward about 100 satellites per year by 2028 and has pursued large funding rounds to expand capacity and sovereign delivery, aiming to grow its revenue and backlog while offering reliable, near-real-time Earth observation data.
