Requirements
Personal Support Specialist certification in good standing.
At least one year of experience in geriatrics.
Basic Life Support certification within 120 days of the hire date.
Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
Ability to perform under stressful situations, prioritize, multitask, and follow through.
Ability to stand or work for most of an 8- to 12-hour shift.
Ability to bend and lift 25 to 55 pounds while assisting residents in and out of bed.
Responsibilities
Administer medications and communicate with health care providers.
Ensure the accuracy of physician orders and provide hands-on care and services to meet identified resident needs.
Coordinate with other staff and implement each resident’s interdisciplinary service plan.
Report changes in residents’ conditions and document residents’ physical ability to perform self-care.
Observe, document, and report residents’ activities of daily living, health status, and compliance with physician orders.
Work under the direction of the Residential Care Coordinator and with RN guidance to maintain residents’ physical, psychological, social, and spiritual well-being in accordance with the resident service plan and current standard of care.
Work every Saturday, Sunday, and Monday from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM on 12-hour shifts.

Summary: The CRMA/PSS is responsible for the administration of medication, communication with health care providers, and assures accuracy of physician orders as well as the provision of hands-on care and services to meet identified resident needs. This includes coordination with other staff, implementation of the interdisciplinary service plan for each resident, reporting changes to resident condition, and documenting resident physical ability to perform self-care. The CRMA/PSS observes, documents, and reports all aspects of resident activities of daily living, health status, and compliance with physician orders to ensure appropriate level of care and placement. The CRMA/PSS works under the direction of the Residential Care Coordinator and with the guidance of the RN to maintain the highest levels of physical, psychological, social, and spiritual well-being in accordance with the resident service plan and current standard of care. This position follows a regular schedule of every Saturday, Sunday, and Monday from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM (12-hour shifts).
