Job Title: GitHub Enterprise Cloud Administrator

Overview

We are seeking an experienced GitHub Enterprise Cloud Administrator to manage and optimize our enterprise-wide GitHub Cloud environment. This role will be responsible for governance, security, and administration across multiple GitHub organizations, ensuring compliance with enterprise policies and enabling development teams to work efficiently and securely.

Key Responsibilities

1. Enterprise-Level Administration

• Manage GitHub Enterprise Cloud at the enterprise account and organization levels.
  
   
• Configure enterprise-wide policies, branch protections, and repository defaults.
  
   
• Oversee multiple GitHub organizations within the enterprise account.
  
   
• Administer GitHub Actions at the enterprise level, including hosted and self-hosted runners.
  
   

2. Identity & Access Management

• Integrate GitHub Enterprise Cloud with SSO/SCIM provisioning via Azure AD, Okta, or similar IAM platforms.
  
   
• Manage user lifecycle: onboarding, offboarding, and periodic access reviews.
  
   
• Oversee service accounts and external collaborator governance.
  
   

3. Governance & Compliance

• Implement enterprise-wide security controls:
  
  
  • SSO enforcement
    
     
  • 2FA requirements
    
     
  • Secret scanning
    
     
  • Code scanning
    
     
  • Dependabot security updates
    
     
• Maintain audit logs for compliance (e.g., SOX, SOC 2).
  
   
• Coordinate with security teams to address vulnerabilities detected by GitHub Advanced Security.
  
   

4. Automation & Integrations

• Automate administrative tasks using GitHub REST/GraphQL APIs and scripts.
  
   
• Integrate GitHub with Jira, Slack, CI/CD tools, and other enterprise platforms.
  
   
• Develop tooling to enforce enterprise governance policies automatically.
  
   

5. Support & Enablement

• Provide tier-3 support for GitHub Cloud-related issues.
  
   
• Partner with engineering teams to design efficient repository structures and branching workflows.
  
   
• Deliver training and maintain internal documentation for GitHub usage best practices.
  
   

6. Monitoring & Optimization

• Monitor license usage, storage, and billing for GitHub Cloud.
  
   
• Identify unused/stale repositories for archival or deletion.
  
   
• Stay updated on GitHub feature releases and evaluate enterprise adoption.
  
   

Qualifications

Required:

• 3+ years administering GitHub Enterprise Cloud in a large-scale environment.
  
   
• Deep understanding of GitHub organizations, repositories, branching strategies, and Actions.
  
   
• Experience with SSO and SCIM integrations.
  
   
• Hands-on experience with GitHub Advanced Security.
  
   
• Scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, or Bash) for automation.
  
   

Preferred:

• Familiarity with enterprise compliance frameworks (SOX, SOC 2, FedRAMP).
  
   
• Experience managing multi-organization GitHub environments.
  
   
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
