QUI Tequila produces Luxury Extra-Añejo Cristalino sipping tequila in small batches in Jalisco, Mexico. Each batch is aged for three and a half years in hand-selected American whiskey and French Bordeaux barrels, which yields the rare extra-añejo designation and flavors like hazelnut, vanilla, and butterscotch. After aging, the tequila is filtered and redistilled to create an exceptionally smooth finish, marketed as the world’s first platinum extra-añejo tequila. The product stands out from competitors through its long maturation, premium wood finishes, and a cristalino filtration that preserves complexity while yielding clarity. The company aims to offer a high-end, luxury tequila experience that has earned recognition, including a Gold Medal in the Spirits of the Americas Competition and accolades from the Wall Street Journal as one of the best bottles to buy now.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • QUI's 2025 Nobu Rare sold out in 50, 1,650, and 300-unit drops.
  • Tequila demand still grew 0.5% in 2025, reaching nearly 32 million cases.
  • July 24, 2026 became Mexico's National Tequila Day, boosting brand-marketing moments.

What critics are saying

  • Tequila supply gluts in 2026 pressure pricing, inventory turns, and distributor discipline.
  • QUI lacks visible scale; no recent funding, hiring, or operational expansion surfaced.
  • Premium novelty is fragile; collector demand can evaporate if secondary buzz fades.

What makes QUI Tequila unique

  • QUI Tequila sells only ultra-aged extra añejo, not blanco or reposado.
  • The brand leans on art-house collaborations with Nobu Matsuhisa and KAWS.
  • Its 25-year-aged Nobu Rare signals luxury positioning few tequila brands match.
