  • At least 7 years of hands-on technology experience, including deep experience in cloud security, cloud platform engineering, cloud security posture management, Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, continuous integration and continuous delivery, automation, identity, and detection and response integration.
  • Experience as a senior individual contributor or technical lead owning a security or platform capability end-to-end at enterprise scale and setting technical direction for other engineers.
  • Hands-on experience deploying, operating, and tuning a cloud security posture management or cloud-native application protection platform in a large multi-cloud environment, including account onboarding, policy authoring and tuning, exception management, and driving findings to remediation.
  • Experience running production platforms with service-level objectives, on-call coverage, change management, and continuous-improvement processes.
  • Experience driving multi-quarter roadmaps from problem framing through rollout, adoption, and steady-state operation.
  • Experience making build-versus-buy decisions and selecting between custom engineering and platform capabilities.
  • Hands-on experience with public cloud, preferably Google Cloud Platform; Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure experience are also valued, as well as private cloud and Kubernetes environments at enterprise scale.
  • Working knowledge of Kubernetes and admission controller frameworks.
  • Strong working knowledge of infrastructure as code, including Terraform or equivalent, and policy as code such as Rego, with familiarity integrating policy and posture signals into continuous integration and continuous delivery.
  • Experience building and operating findings pipelines that integrate cloud security signals into enterprise remediation and governance platforms, including ownership attribution and service-level agreements.
  • Experience integrating cloud telemetry into enterprise security information and event management and security orchestration, automation, and response pipelines.
  • Experience using diverse security tools and technologies and implementing end-to-end solutions aligned with reference security architecture requirements.
  • Hands-on experience integrating security tooling with developer workflows, including continuous integration and delivery, source control, and ticketing.
  • Strong understanding of secure software development practices, network security fundamentals, and modern cloud-native architectures.
  • Understanding of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and their emerging security considerations in cloud security tooling.
  • Hands-on fluency in at least one general-purpose programming language, such as Python or Go, and experience building reusable platforms and paved roads.
  • Ability to partner cross-functionally with security and product engineering teams on requirements, rollout plans, and operational ownership.
  • Ability to communicate risks and technical tradeoffs to senior leadership and explain technical details to staff engineers.
  • Understanding of security management workflows in large enterprise organizations, complex environments, the current threat landscape, and common organizational security challenges.
  • Working knowledge of security frameworks, standards, the cloud threat landscape, and best practices, including the National Institute of Standards and Technology, Center for Internet Security Benchmarks, and ISO/IEC 27001.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the senior technical lead and hands-on owner of the Cloud Security Platform and cloud security posture management capability, setting technical direction, standards, and roadmap.
  • Own the end-to-end engineering, deployment, configuration, tuning, and operation of the cloud security posture management and cloud-native application protection platform across public and private cloud environments.
  • Onboard new cloud accounts, projects, and workloads; implement and operate core controls; and manage role-based access control and single sign-on.
  • Operate the platform as a production system by owning availability, performance, observability, capacity, upgrades, service-level objectives, and outage response, including on-call participation.
  • Own the cloud security posture management policy set, including enabled, tuned, and suppressed rules, based on reference architecture, secure configuration benchmarks, and the operating environment.
  • Partner with cloud security software developers on the findings pipeline, including aggregation, deduplication, enrichment, ownership attribution, and delivery to enterprise remediation dashboards with service-level agreements.
  • Reduce noise and false positives so that findings reaching engineers are actionable.
  • Extend platform ownership to cloud workload posture, container and image posture, cloud identity and entitlement findings, and infrastructure-as-code posture signals.
  • Partner with Detection and Response to turn high-signal posture and runtime findings into detections and support cloud incident response.
  • Drive multi-quarter initiatives from problem framing and scoping through design, build, rollout, adoption, and steady-state operation.
  • Make build-versus-buy decisions and own tool lifecycle activities, including evaluations, proofs of concept, capability adoption, integration work, and vendor and contract input.
  • Treat the Cloud Security Platform as a product by investing in automation, self-service, and platform practices that scale coverage and remediation.
  • Reduce operational toil through paved roads, improved defaults, and faster developer feedback.
  • Own the developer experience of platform findings and controls, including explanations, documented escape hatches, exception handling, and feedback loops with product engineering.
  • Drive platform adoption across Target Tech through onboarding, governance workflows, exception management, and developer enablement.
  • Integrate cloud security telemetry into enterprise security information and event management, security orchestration, automation, and response pipelines and remediation and governance systems.
  • Partner with Cloud Platform, Identity Security, Network Security, Data Security, Detection and Response, Vulnerability Management, business information security officers, and product engineering on requirements, rollout plans, and operational ownership.
  • Represent the platform roadmap, risk reduction, operational health, and tradeoffs to senior leadership and staff engineers.
  • Mentor engineers on cloud security, cloud security posture management, cloud-native application protection, and platform engineering practices, and improve code quality, testing, code review, on-call hygiene, postmortems, and operational excellence.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure; Google Cloud Platform is preferred.
  • Familiarity with deeper infrastructure-as-code scanning, admission control, and software supply-chain security posture management controls.
  • Strong cross-functional partnership, curiosity, bias for action, and a builder's mindset.
