Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree is required.
  • At least 3 years of experience in higher education or a related setting is required.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting students from first-generation and/or low-income backgrounds is required.
  • Ability to coordinate events, build relationships across departments, and manage multiple priorities is required.
  • Knowledge of issues affecting student retention and persistence is required.
  • Ability to work evenings and occasional weekends as needed is required.
Responsibilities
  • Assess and evaluate implemented programs and activities.
  • Maintain, analyze, and track funds and programming budgets.
  • Develop a tracking system for student retention and engagement.
  • Coordinate and develop training programs and workshops for student success and retention.
  • Meet individually with assigned students.
  • Develop reports and resources that promote student needs.
  • Coordinate summer bridge planning and logistics for the Academic Immersion Program.
  • Facilitate programming and provide high-touch support for Academic Immersion Program participants.
  • Coordinate academic-year workshops and student check-ins.
  • Support ongoing retention initiatives for first- and second-year students.
  • Lead individual and group transition support services for Fairfield Bellarmine students moving to Fairfield University's main campus.
  • Coordinate events and workshops focused on academic and social transition.
  • Develop partnerships with student services, faculty, and advising teams.
  • Provide consistent, culturally aware student advising and mentorship.
  • Track student participation and outcomes and assist with evaluation and reporting.
  • Collaborate with Upward Bound to improve student transition pathways.
  • Help build inclusive spaces that affirm students' identities and experiences.
  • Serve as a visible and approachable presence for students.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • A master's degree in education, student affairs, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience with summer bridge or academic transition programs is preferred.
  • Familiarity with community college student populations or two-year-to-four-year transition models is preferred.
  • Understanding of Jesuit education and student success frameworks is preferred.
