Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree is required.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant international tax experience is required, including international tax planning and experience in a public accounting firm.
  • Extensive technical tax knowledge and advisory experience are required to work independently and deliver recommendations that account for tax, legal, and business risks and benefits.
  • Knowledge of check-the-box election planning and permanent establishment issues is required, along with knowledge of transfer pricing and value-added tax.
  • Experience with international tax reporting and compliance is required, including FDII, GILTI, and foreign tax credit calculations.
  • The candidate must take ownership of projects, seek process improvements, and demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Responsibilities
  • Identify international tax issues, perform technical tax research, and participate in hands-on international tax projects, including modeling the impacts of tax initiatives and developments and planning legal structures.
  • Manage permanent establishment risks by working with Legal, Human Resources, International Payroll, Global Mobility, and other departments to mitigate risks and establish appropriate international structures, documentation, and processes.
  • Partner with foreign tax advisors on foreign-country tax planning and compliance, including filing foreign income tax returns.
  • Prepare international tax compliance calculations and documentation for the U.S. federal income tax return, including Forms 1118, 5471, 8858, and 8993.
  • Support the preparation or review of documentation satisfying U.S. reporting requirements, such as Form 1042.
  • Prepare country-by-country reports concerning foreign operations and manage external advisors’ preparation of local country files.
  • Manage external advisors’ preparation of transfer pricing reports and related documentation, and contribute to drafting internal documentation such as services agreements and secondment documentation.
  • Coordinate transfer pricing and related documentation activities with Legal and Accounting.
  • Oversee foreign indirect tax registration and compliance, including managing the indirect tax compliance process.
  • Collaborate with external advisors to monitor developments in value-added tax, goods and services tax, and digital services taxes.
  • Manage the international tax aspects of U.S. tax audit matters and work with external advisors to manage international tax audits.
  • Manage a team of two.
Desired Qualifications
  • An advanced degree in taxation is preferred.
  • Certification in taxation, Certified Public Accountant, or Juris Doctor is preferred.
