Requirements
  • Experience managing frequently erratic behaviors that can be aggressive.
  • Prior experience with special needs is required.
  • Experience with autism spectrum, behavioral disorders, and Angelman syndrome is required.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age at the start of employment.
  • Must be comfortable with pets in the home, including multiple small dogs.
  • Must pass a background check before hire.
Responsibilities
  • Engage the child and encourage appropriate behaviors.
  • Provide one-to-one safety supervision with line of sight at all times.
  • Assist with regulation techniques during heightened behaviors.
  • Set firm boundaries that are beneficial to the child and assist with managing behaviors.
  • Provide safety and companionship.
  • Assist with daily living tasks, including changing, bathing, transferring to and from a wheelchair, meal preparation, feeding, and basic household chores.
  • Provide emotional and behavioral support.
