Litera has partnered with Midpage to embed legal research capabilities into Lito, its AI legal agent, whilst releasing benchmark research highlighting limitations of general-purpose large language models for legal redlining tasks.
The integration brings US case law and statutes from Midpage, trusted by over 200 law firms, directly into Lito's Microsoft 365 environment. Users can query documents against legal sources, check statutory compliance and generate case summaries without leaving Word or Outlook.
Litera's internal research compared its purpose-built Compare tool against leading LLMs including Gemini 3, Claude Opus 4.5 and ChatGPT 5.2. Findings showed general LLMs struggled with non-text elements and accuracy declined significantly in longer documents, dropping to approximately 40-70% in 200-page tests. The company emphasised that whilst LLMs excel at research assistance, producing defensible legal redlines requires purpose-built technology.

UniCourt announces new groundbreaking legal analytics for its award-winning product DART, showcasing judgment analytics and comparison of attorney metrics in key state trial courts.
UniCourt, the preeminent litigation data and analytics platform, is proud to announce the launch of its new legal analytics featuring judgment analytics and comparison of attorneys by key metrics such as trial experience and judgment outcomes. These judgment analytics and the attorney comparison tool will be available for a selection of key trial state courts, soon to be expanded nationwide. This new suite of litigation analytics builds on enhanced case analytics that is a major feature of UniCourt DART (Docket Analytics, Research, and Tracking), UniCourt's award-winning product line.
"Knowing who won and how much money changed hands is the only way to get a true picture of the litigation landscape," says Josh Blandi, CEO of UniCourt.
Now, legal professionals can leverage these powerful analytics to understand case outcomes in terms of damages awarded, timing, and plaintiff/defendant win rates. They can compare attorneys to find those with the strongest experience by trial count, win/loss rate, damages awarded, and more. These new analytics can help answer questions such as:
* What's the median jury award for a personal injury case, and is this specific jurisdiction more favorable to plaintiffs or defendants?
* How long should I expect a case to last if it goes to judgment? What if it goes to trial?
* How do my panel of attorneys compare against each other? Who is the best attorney for this case if it goes to trial?
"Knowing who won and how much money changed hands is the only way to get a true picture of the litigation landscape," says Josh Blandi, CEO of UniCourt. "Our judgment and attorney comparison analytics enables legal professionals to better assess litigation trends, outcomes, counsel experience, and ultimately, results. Understanding liability trends and counsel performance will help legal professionals make data-backed decisions on case values, litigation strategy, and business implications."
Judgment Analytics
With UniCourt's new judgment analytics, legal professionals can gain crucial insights into:
* Award metrics: total amount of damages granted and median amount awarded
* Outcome trends: likelihood of certain case types to proceed to judgment and verdict
* Success rates: proportion of judgments and verdicts resolved in favor of plaintiffs versus defendants
* Timing: median time to judgments and verdicts
Attorney Comparison Analytics
Legal professionals will now also be able to leverage new sophisticated comparison tools in order to compare attorneys by:
* Litigation experience: total case count and number of judgments/verdicts awarded
* Win/Loss records: number of judgments and verdicts won and overall win percentages
* Damages awarded: total and median amounts won on behalf of clients
* Head-to-head comparison: direct, side-by-side performance metrics of specific attorneys or opposing counsel
The new judgment analytics and counsel comparison are built into UniCourt's exclusive Litigation Knowledge Graph, which connects cases, claims, facts, and outcomes directly to underlying documents and key players involved (attorneys, law firms, judges, courts, parties). This provides legal professionals with a comprehensive view of the crucial intersections and outcomes of the litigation most relevant to their client and case.
UniCourt has launched new legal analytics for its DART product, featuring judgment analytics and attorney comparison tools for select state trial courts, with plans for nationwide expansion.
The analytics enable legal professionals to analyse case outcomes including damages awarded, timing and win rates. Users can compare attorneys based on trial experience, win/loss rates and damages awarded. The tools help answer questions about median jury awards, case duration and counsel selection for trial.
The judgment analytics provide insights into award metrics, outcome trends, success rates and timing. The attorney comparison feature allows evaluation of counsel based on trial count, performance metrics and case outcomes.
CEO Josh Blandi said understanding liability trends and counsel performance helps legal professionals make data-backed decisions on case values and litigation strategy.
