About the job
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must successfully complete a Level II background check.
- Must be able to teach, encourage, and effectively manage children ranging from first grade through 12th grade.
- Must be available to work a minimum of two shifts per week.
- Must be able to stand for long periods, walk long distances, and climb stairs.
- Must communicate clearly and concisely in English.
- Must be able to work in areas that may become crowded with equipment or people.
- Must be comfortable working around special effects, including haze, strobe lights, and lasers.
- Must be able to work in loud environments.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to walk up to 0.5 miles to and from designated employee parking areas in varying weather conditions and during high-traffic event times.
- Must be available for a flexible schedule that includes long hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to work in cold and hot indoor and outdoor temperatures.
- Set up and execute ball hockey clinics within the Tampa Bay Area and surrounding communities.
- Coach Lightning ice hockey programs with alumni and full-time staff at local ice rinks, including Learn to Skate, Learn to Play, Rookie League, and other clinics.
- Help execute youth hockey camps by providing on- and off-ice support during summer and holiday breaks.
- Act as a league representative and scorekeeper at Lightning High School Hockey League games.
- Assist with scorekeeping, coaching, and other off-ice support for the Lightning Heroes League.
- Assist with major events such as Hockey Fest, Hockey Day, Girls Hockey Weekend, and other hockey development events.
- Assist with ball hockey leagues, birthday parties, and other events at the Lightning Made Training Center.
- Serve as a Lightning representative and referee at outdoor rink ball hockey leagues and school leagues.
- Coach girls’ hockey programs on and off the ice and support the growth of girls’ hockey.
- High-energy, positive attitude, and ability to work as a team player.
