Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent GED.
  • Five years of experience in facilities maintenance with special knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and construction.
  • EPA certification for HVAC and refrigeration.
  • An electrical apprentice license.
  • Technical knowledge of carpentry and handiwork, minor household repairs, and electrical and mechanical repairs.
  • Knowledge of lawn maintenance and gardening.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Knowledge of facility safety and maintenance practices.
  • Specific knowledge related to building, equipment, ground, and vehicle maintenance.
  • Ability to stay organized while executing multiple projects.
  • Ability to interact with professionals and staff from a variety of disciplines with a service orientation.
  • Availability to respond to facility emergencies outside normal hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • A valid Texas driver's license.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate day-to-day maintenance activities for buildings, grounds, equipment, and vehicles under the direction of facilities leadership.
  • Assist with assigning and prioritizing work orders and monitor progress to support timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
  • Support emergency response efforts and participate in on-call coverage for facility-related issues.
  • Assist with implementing and coordinating preventive maintenance programs and schedules.
  • Assist with coordinating vendor services and monitor work for compliance with contractual requirements and service expectations.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies, parts, tools, and equipment needed for facility operations.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general repairs.
  • Support facility setup and operational needs, including conference room arrangements and basic audio/visual support.
  • Monitor HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems, identify potential problems, and communicate issues to facilities leadership.
  • Conduct routine facility inspections for cleanliness, safety, and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Support safety and emergency preparedness initiatives, including fire drills, inspections, and reporting requirements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
  • Travel between multiple facility locations and drive agency vehicles on organizational business.
