Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Support the Zone Department Head by responding to physician network inquiries and providing contextual information about network issues, individuals, and communities.
  • Meet with the respective Zone Department Head at least monthly, in person or via electronic technology, for network and departmental updates.
  • Work in a co-leadership model with the Network Primary Health Care Manager, including scheduled check-ins and meetings with physicians, family practice teams, and other network stakeholders to support implementation of the Health Home Model.
  • Advise and assist the Zone Department Head with family physician recruitment and retention within the Network, including contacting retiring physicians, reviewing practice data, recommending replacements, meeting potential recruits, coordinating with the Zone Recruitment Officer, and recommending payment models and deliverables.
  • Chair Network Family Practice Council meetings every four to six weeks and biannual department meetings with network family physicians.
  • Maintain relationships with network family physicians and promote Department of Family Practice functions and activities through meetings and interactions with physicians and family practice teams.
  • Attend network physician meetings as required, either accompanying the Zone Department Head or attending in their place.
  • Liaise with regional hospital and Community Emergency Centre site leads through the Network Council and on an ad hoc basis.
  • Assess minor complaints or SIMS reports concerning network family physicians, perform initial troubleshooting and data gathering, resolve minor complaints, and refer significant issues to the Zone Department Head or Zonal Medical Executive Director.
