Requirements
- Have extensive technology and design experience involving software development, networking protocols, Ethernet transport, networking orchestration, OpenStack, and virtual or cloud network architectures.
- Have proven experience in application development Agile methodology related to network orchestration and service delivery, including configuration and provisioning; network virtualization; security and data center architecture; cloud platform deployment involving infrastructure management, service orchestration and instantiation; and business logic integration.
- Have 6+ years of experience architecting cloud solutions, including underlying compute, storage, and network infrastructure technologies.
- Have direct work experience involving LAN and WAN network design, data center architecture, and cloud concepts and operation.
- Have working experience with Linux, including RedHat, SUSE, Debian, Ubuntu, or BSD.
- Have highly proficient, hands-on experience with IGP (OSPF/ISIS), MBGP/BGP, multicast, MPLS, L2VPN (VPLS, EVPN), L3VPN, L2 switching, TCP/IP, IPv6, VXLAN, and OpenFlow.
- Have experience with OpenStack Networking (Neutron) plug-in and OpenStack Heat integration, Cloudify, OPNFV, and ONOS.
- Have knowledge of security and enterprise architecture.
- Have expert-level knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 network technologies.
- Have software development experience, including API development (REST, XML, etc.) and SOA methodology.
- Have experience using the SCRUM Agile development methodology.
- Have experience with object, block, direct, and network-attached storage configurations.
- Have knowledge related to designing and operating virtualized environments for compute and storage.
- Have demonstrated experience in cloud-environment design, engineering, and virtualization, including virtual machine deployment and management, cloud orchestration, service instantiation and assurance, and cloud analytics.
- Have a bachelor's degree in Engineering or a Technical Discipline.
Responsibilities
- Develop SDN/NFV architecture to support network evolution and future network automation and programmability.
- Interact with cross-functional DEV/OPS and product teams to define automation and programmability for network evolution, future products, and services.
- Assess vendor offerings related to network centralized control and orchestration, and network virtualization.
- Recommend vendor and open-source solutions related to SDN and NFV.
- Define use cases and document business advantages and justifications related to SDN and NFV deployments.
- Gather requirements from impacted product and IT teams, including implementation, operations, and network management.
- Maintain a lab environment to assess technical solutions and support SDN and NFV product proof-of-concept testing.
- Prototype architecture to demonstrate conceptual operation and assess technical feasibility.
- Develop software and orchestration technology design and strategy for next-generation services.
- Analyze networking and software technologies and vendors to support service requirements.
- Provide thought leadership and strategy, and lead innovation by exploring, investigating, recommending, benchmarking, and implementing technologies for SDN and service orchestration.
- Collaborate in a cross-functional team environment to develop an overall end-to-end solution that meets business expectations.
- Foster an environment of ideation and innovation to cultivate new solution concepts.

- Programming experience in C, C++, Java, shell, Perl, Python, CGI, ASP, PHP, VB, or .NET is a plus.
