Requirements
  • One year of preferred experience with general ultrasound, vascular ultrasound, and portable examinations.
  • Eligibility for the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers certification, with certification required within six months of hire.
  • Successful completion of the Sonography Principles and Instrumentation examination is required for eligibility for the six-month certification grace period.
  • Graduation from an accredited sonography school or sonography program.
  • Maintain licensure and participate in continuing education units.
  • Maintain Basic Life Support certification.
Responsibilities
  • Adhere to departmental production requirements.
  • Comply with life-safety, fire, hazardous-waste, radiation-safety, and infection-control requirements.
  • Perform ultrasound procedures.
  • Participate in clinical and clerical activities.
Desired Qualifications
  • Registered Vascular Technologist certification is preferred.
  • Training in elastography, thyroidectomies, pediatric examinations including echoencephalography, hips, and spines, PVRs, TCDs, gynecologic examinations, and vascular examinations including arterial and venous duplexes, dialysis grafts, extremity mappings, carotids, and abdominal venous examinations is expected.
