Tens of thousands of users reported problems with OpenAI's service through Downdetector, an outage tracking service. OpenAI said it was investigating the increase in error rates in its ChatGPT chatbot and its Codex AI coding tool. Anthropic said that several of its models had recovered after suffering errors, but the company continues to work to resolve the outages in its Opus 4.8 and Opus 5 products.
