Requirements
  • Knowledge of CAAHEP rules and regulations.
  • Proficiency in relevant computer applications and instructional and clinical technology systems, with working knowledge of associated equipment and digital tools.
  • Knowledge of public relations principles and practices.
  • Ability to monitor and evaluate student performance.
  • Ability to prioritize work and perform multiple tasks.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to exchange or convey information and receive work direction.
  • An academic degree no lower than an Associate degree and at least equal to the degree for which graduates are being prepared.
  • Appropriate credentials specific to the concentration or concentrations coordinated.
  • Documented experience in supervision, instruction, evaluation, student guidance, and educational theories and techniques.
  • At least two years of clinical experience as a registered sonographer in the professional sonography field.
Responsibilities
  • Deliver instruction aligned with program learning objectives and accreditation standards.
  • Use lectures, hands-on scanning labs, case studies, and simulation-based learning.
  • Assess student performance through formative and summative evaluations and provide timely, constructive feedback.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse student learning needs.
  • Ensure course materials and instruction align with program competencies and industry best practices.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student success.
  • Provide academic support, guidance, and mentorship to students.
  • Encourage students to use available academic and student support services.
  • Promote professionalism, ethical behavior, and clinical competency in sonography.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Program Director and faculty regarding student progress and program needs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum development and instructional effectiveness.
  • Stay current with industry trends, advancements in sonographic technology, and best practices in medical imaging.
  • Follow college policies, procedures, and accreditation requirements.
  • Contribute to program assessment and improvement efforts as requested.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Diagnostic Medical Sonography curriculum implementation, revision, and evaluation.
  • Knowledge of CAAHEP rules and regulations.
