Quest Diagnostics and Waters partner on at-home cervical cancer screening kit

Quest Diagnostics and Waters Corporation have announced a collaboration to expand access to the Onclarity Self-Collection Kit for cervical cancer screening. Patients collect samples at home, and Quest laboratories process them using the Onclarity HPV assay. The companies aim to widen access to testing for patients who face barriers to screening in clinics. The move supports Quest's push into consumer health testing, a business of roughly $300 million. Quest has a market value of about $26.9 billion. The program is due to enter broader rollout in 2027. Reimbursement pressure remains a risk for the company.

Quest Diagnostics lifts 2026 guidance as Q3 revenue climbs 10%, warns of 1% PAMA hit

Quest Diagnostics reported 10% revenue growth in the third quarter of 2026 and raised its full-year revenue and earnings per share guidance. Growth came from physician, hospital, and consumer channels, and organic volume rose 5% excluding major partnerships. Hospital revenue grew by double digits, helped by the Corewell Health partnership. Consumer health revenue is expected to grow more than 30% this year, as users can now order labs through the Apple Health app. The company expects a 2027 hit of about 1% of revenue from cuts under the Protecting Access to Medicare Act (PAMA), and less than 1.3% cumulatively through 2029. It is backing the RESULTS Act to reform PAMA, and plans to offset part of the impact through efficiency gains. Quest also disclosed a cybersecurity incident at a test ordering system, which it said has not materially disrupted operations.

Quest Diagnostics drops 5% as US cuts lab test reimbursement rates by 15%

Quest Diagnostics stock fell 5.1% on Tuesday after the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services announced it would cut reimbursement rates for lab work by up to 15%, effective 1 January 2027. CMS disclosed it has been paying approximately 16% more for lab tests than private insurers. The rate cuts could save taxpayers $1 billion annually but will reduce Quest's revenue. The company derives about 11% of its revenue from CMS reimbursement. If rates decrease by the full 15%, Quest's annual revenue would drop by 1.65%. Successive 15% annual reductions are possible through 2029, meaning a worst-case revenue reduction of slightly less than 5%. The company had warned in its SEC filing that Medicare and Medicaid rate changes posed risks to its business.

Quanterix names yuri Fesko chief medical officer as diagnostics business expands.

Quanterix names yuri Fesko chief medical officer as diagnostics business expands. September 14, 2026 Dr. Yuri Fesko Quanterix Corporation has appointed Dr. Yuri Fesko chief medical officer, adding an experienced diagnostics executive as the company prepares for a broader market launch of its Lucent AD(R) Complete Alzheimer's disease test and advances regulatory work for its HD-X instrument. Fesko will provide medical and clinical leadership across the Nasdaq-listed precision biomarker company, working with its Diagnostics, Scientific, R&D, Regulatory and Commercial teams. He will be based at Quanterix's headquarters in Billerica, Massachusetts. The newly created role comes as Quanterix works to expand its diagnostics business and move more of its biomarker technologies into clinical applications. President and CEO Everett Cunningham said Fesko's background in clinical affairs and precision medicine will support both the commercialization of Lucent AD Complete and the company's planned IVD filing for HD-X. "As we prepare for the broader market launch of our Lucent AD Complete five biomarker test for Alzheimer's Disease, we welcome Dr. Yuri Fesko to Quanterix in an important new role to support our efforts to efficiently scale our expansion in diagnostics," Cunningham said. Fesko most recently served as chief medical officer at Quest Diagnostics, where he oversaw Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Analytics and Public Health. He also served as the medical lead supporting the company's Quality and Regulatory functions and provided senior medical leadership for pathology and dermatopathology. His experience spans the development and implementation of precision medicine strategies in oncology, metabolic disease, neurology and consumer health. He has worked with health systems, pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, and physician organizations to integrate precision diagnostics into clinical practice and clinical trials. Fesko also brings experience supporting FDA submissions, clinical development programs, companion diagnostic strategies and reimbursement planning. Those capabilities are relevant as Quanterix works to translate its biomarker research technologies into regulated diagnostic products and expand their use in clinical settings. One immediate priority is Lucent AD Complete, Quanterix's five-biomarker blood test for Alzheimer's disease. The company is preparing for a broader market launch of the test while simultaneously advancing the IVD regulatory filing for its HD-X instrument, making medical, regulatory and commercialization coordination a central part of Fesko's mandate. Cunningham said Fesko's ability to work across medicine, diagnostics, analytics and business strategy will support the company's efforts to build its Diagnostics business and broaden the clinical applications of its technology. Quanterix develops precision biomarker technologies designed to detect and quantify biological markers at very low concentrations. Its Simoa(R) platform provides high-sensitivity biomarker measurement in blood and other fluids, supporting applications across disease research, diagnostics and drug development. The company's technology portfolio has also expanded through its acquisition of Akoya Biosciences. Quanterix Spatial solutions provide high-plex quantitative protein analysis in tissue at single-cell resolution, adding spatial biology capabilities alongside its existing fluid biomarker technologies. Quanterix also operates Accelerator Laboratory services, providing researchers with additional capabilities for moving biomarker discoveries toward diagnostic applications. Together, those businesses give the company a platform spanning biomarker measurement, spatial analysis and laboratory services as it increases its focus on precision diagnostics. Fesko earned both his bachelor's degree and Doctor of Medicine from Case Western Reserve University and completed a fellowship at University Hospitals of Cleveland. He is board-certified in internal medicine, hematology and medical oncology. His appointment adds senior clinical leadership at a point when Quanterix is managing both product commercialization and regulatory execution. As the company expands beyond research applications, Fesko will help coordinate the medical evidence, regulatory strategy and clinical adoption required to move its biomarker technologies more broadly into diagnostic workflows.
