About the job

Requirements
  • At least 10 years of software engineering experience with demonstrated depth across frontend and backend disciplines.
  • A proven record as a technical leader and senior individual contributor, setting standards, driving architecture, and influencing teams without direct management authority.
  • Expert-level knowledge of React, Next.js, micro-frontend architecture, single-page applications, and component-driven design.
  • Deep experience with Adobe Experience Manager, including headful and headless integration patterns, Editable Templates, component authoring, and frontend/AEM interoperability.
  • Hands-on experience designing and implementing production-grade agentic AI solutions, including autonomous agents, multi-agent orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph, CrewAI, or AutoGen, tool-integrated reasoning workflows, and retrieval-augmented generation pipelines, taking systems from proof of concept through scalable production deployment.
  • Strong backend proficiency with Node.js, Fastify, GraphQL federation and schema design, and Java services.
  • Understanding of caching strategies using Redis, database design with MongoDB, and API performance patterns.
  • Experience with cloud-native infrastructure, including AWS, Kubernetes, container-based deployments, and GitHub Actions-based continuous integration and delivery pipelines.
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps practices, compliance requirements such as SOX, and security standards in regulated environments.
  • Ability to communicate technical vision, trade-offs, and architectural decisions to engineering and non-engineering audiences.
  • Experience with frontend performance optimization, including Core Web Vitals, bundle strategies, server-side rendering and static site generation, lazy loading, and observability.
  • Experience with Design Systems governance, implementation standards, and cross-team adoption.
Responsibilities
  • Own and drive the end-to-end technical roadmap for the ecommerce platform across frontend, backend, infrastructure, and integrations.
  • Define and enforce architectural standards across the micro-frontend architecture, governing React single-page applications, Adobe Experience Manager headful pages, and shared platform services.
  • Establish integration patterns and design contracts so application domain owners can build independently and compose their work seamlessly.
  • Identify and resolve architectural conflicts and overlaps across teams, acting as the central technical authority for cross-cutting design decisions.
  • Champion scalable, maintainable, high-performance full-stack architectures while balancing pragmatic delivery with long-term platform health.
  • Lead technical discovery, proofs of concept, and architectural reviews for new capabilities, platform modernization, and emerging technology adoption.
  • Define frontend architectural standards for single-page applications, micro-frontends, and Adobe Experience Manager-integrated experiences.
  • Own the technical strategy for React and Adobe Experience Manager interoperability, including component authoring models, client-side hydration, Editable Templates, and content-driven experiences.
  • Drive end-to-end frontend performance ownership, including Core Web Vitals, bundle optimization, lazy loading, server-side and static-site generation strategies, and Adobe Experience Manager component efficiency.
  • Govern the Design System’s technical evolution to ensure consistent implementation across frontend surfaces and teams.
  • Optimize Adobe Experience Manager workflows for developer productivity, including local development environments and continuous integration and delivery pipeline integration.
  • Enforce frontend coding standards, accessibility, and unit, integration, and end-to-end testing practices across teams.
  • Provide technical leadership and standards for backend services, including GraphQL API layers, Node.js and Fastify microservices, and Java-based services.
  • Define frontend-to-backend integration patterns that minimize coupling and duplication and enable teams to iterate independently.
  • Set standards and best practices for caching strategies, including Redis, data persistence with MongoDB, and service reliability.
  • Guide infrastructure decisions with platform and DevOps teams, including AWS, Kubernetes, container orchestration, and continuous integration and delivery pipeline design using GitHub Actions and related tools.
  • Ensure backend services meet performance, security, and compliance standards, including SOX and DevSecOps requirements for a regulated, high-transaction environment.
  • Lead adoption of AI-assisted coding and development practices across engineering teams.
  • Architect, design, and implement end-to-end agentic AI solutions, including autonomous multi-agent systems, tool-integrated reasoning workflows, and large language model-orchestrated pipelines for customer experiences across cruise discovery, search, booking, and post-purchase engagement.
  • Research, evaluate, and standardize generative AI tools and workflows, including Claude Code, AI code-review tools, and large language model-assisted development, to improve engineering productivity, code quality, and delivery velocity.
  • Develop and share best practices, playbooks, and workshops to help engineers use AI in their daily workflows.
  • Drive the transition to AI-augmented engineering by reducing friction, building confidence, and advancing AI-assisted software development practices.
  • Collaborate with engineering managers and product leaders to identify opportunities where AI can accelerate platform development, improve quality, or enable customer experiences.
  • Track relevant AI and generative AI developments and recommend emerging tools, techniques, and risk considerations to leadership.
  • Partner with engineering managers, product managers, UX designers, and QA leads to design cohesive end-to-end platform solutions.
  • Advise application domain owners on technical feasibility, trade-offs, and integration approaches while preserving platform-level concerns.
  • Translate strategic business priorities into actionable technical direction and communicate technical constraints in useful terms to stakeholders.
  • Surface and resolve cross-team dependencies before they block delivery.
  • Elevate engineering craft through code reviews, architecture reviews, technical writing, workshops, and hands-on pairing.
  • Define and maintain platform-wide engineering standards, patterns, and documentation to reduce ambiguity and accelerate onboarding.
  • Identify and develop future technical leaders across ecommerce engineering teams.
  • Foster engineering excellence, psychological safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead technical-debt reduction initiatives with measurable outcomes and clear prioritization frameworks.
  • Establish and monitor platform health metrics for performance, reliability, security posture, and developer experience, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Champion long-term platform investments alongside near-term delivery to maintain the codebase as a competitive advantage.
Desired Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or large language model-integrated workflows, and an interest in advancing AI adoption in software engineering.
  • Experience integrating AI or machine-learning models from proof of concept through production deployment.
