  • The ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment while using multiple IT systems simultaneously and remaining calm under pressure.

  • Experience in customer service, health, social care, or a similar role, or transferable skills demonstrating the ability to support others effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, a professional telephone manner, and the ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
  • Flexibility to work at least three out of four weekends, covering Saturdays and Sundays, with opportunities to cover annual leave, sickness, bank holidays, and weekday shifts, including early and late patterns.
  • Ability to work from home in a suitable environment with reliable internet access while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to data protection requirements.
  • A supporting statement answering all four application questions is required for the application to progress.
  • Supporting documents must be in PDF or Microsoft Word format.
  • Staff and volunteers are expected to share the commitment to safeguarding children, young people, and vulnerable adults; relevant posts require DBS checks or police vetting.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the first point of contact for customers, their families, Reablement Support Workers, health and social care professionals, and emergency services.
  • Use telephone and online systems to provide advice, reassurance, and practical support in response to enquiries, urgent situations, and emergencies.
  • Assess situations, take appropriate action, and ensure a seamless handover to the relevant team or service.
  • Manage own workload while coordinating support for Reablement Support Workers, identifying when additional assistance is needed and escalating concerns in line with Home First policies and procedures, including safeguarding requirements.
  • Guide lone-working Reablement Support Workers and support them during emergencies.
  • Accurately record and manage compliments, concerns, and complaints.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues during shifts, using Microsoft Teams and email while ensuring the phone line remains staffed and responsive.
  • Support colleagues through shift swaps and additional cover when needed.
  • Attend monthly team meetings and complete mandatory annual training and regular refresher learning.
