- A valid driver's license is required.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology is required.
- The candidate must be able to administer subcutaneous, intradermal, and intramuscular injections.
- The candidate must be able to manually take patient vital signs.
- The candidate must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with patients, medical staff, and the public.
- The candidate must be able to react calmly and effectively in difficult or emergent situations.
- The candidate must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, push, pull, balance, and handle or lift up to 20 pounds.
- The candidate must have sufficient manual dexterity to operate a computer and keyboard at 50 words per minute, calculator, telephone, copier, and fax.
- The candidate must be able to operate a motor vehicle to travel between clinics.
- Escort patients to exam rooms and obtain vital signs, past and present medical history, and current medication lists.
- Communicate allergy testing and treatment protocols to patients.
- Administer subcutaneous, intradermal, and intramuscular injections.
- Conduct accurate spirometry testing to assess and evaluate patients' lung function.
- Perform testing and treatment according to Aspire Allergy protocols and safety measures.
- Use the electronic health record system to record accurate patient health information.
- Greet, welcome, and direct patients and visitors appropriately.
- Answer incoming phone calls and provide accurate information.
- Track clinical inventory and resupply it when needed.
- Complete end-of-day reports and logs accurately.
- Follow Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act rules and regulations, including patient-information confidentiality and protected-health-information guidelines.
- Follow Occupational Safety and Health Administration requirements, including universal precautions and sharps-disposal guidelines.
- Cross-train in front-office responsibilities to support full-cycle clinic operations, including scheduling appointments, collecting patient payments, supporting treatment coordination, enrolling patients in selected treatments, and obtaining computed tomography authorizations.
- A completed Medical Assistant program or degree is preferred.
- At least one year of Medical Assistant experience is preferred.
- At least one year of Medical Receptionist experience is preferred.
- A Medical Assistant Certificate, vocational nurse license, or related experience is preferred.
- Current CPR Certification is preferred.
