Requirements
  • At least one year of experience as a cook in a food service facility, or a certificate of completion in culinary arts and/or food and hospitality service from a certified community college or technical school.
  • Obtain a food handler’s card within 30 days of hire.
  • Submit a resume outlining cook experience.
  • Applicants must complete all supplemental questions and keep their Workday Job History current.
  • Employment is contingent on passing a criminal records check that meets Oregon Health Authority criteria at hire and throughout employment.
  • Complete Form I-9 documentation and confirm authorization to work in the United States within three days of hire; employment eligibility must not depend on visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Use of outside resources, including artificial intelligence tools, is prohibited during assessments and interviews unless explicitly approved.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience cooking for more than 120 people per meal in an institutional setting.
  • Experience cooking and preparing therapeutic diets and texture modifications.
  • Experience following and applying food service policies and procedures.
  • Valid ServSafe certification.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet browsers; basic knowledge of arithmetic.
  • Valid Oregon driver’s license.
  • Completion of Marion County Advanced Food Management Principles and Concepts Training, including Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points certification, may receive preference.
