Requirements
  • A minimum of 2-15+ years in a fast paced and high growth environment in roles such as Supplier Quality Engineer, Supplier Development Engineer, or Supplier Industrialization Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, or Process Engineering
  • Successfully launched into volume production of complex manufactured components and assemblies from prototype through mass production
  • Active participation in product design efforts and knowledge of transitioning from prototype to volume production (CAD system experience such as NX, Catia, SolidWorks is a bonus)
  • Implemented First Article Inspection criteria, Production Part Approved Process (PPAP) requirements, and Supplier Quality Scorecard metrics
  • Worked with an established Quality System and applied it to improve the supply base (AS9100/ISO 9001/IATF 16949)
  • Achieved measurable results with Product Quality Planning with part suppliers and contract manufacturers (e.g., Advanced Product Quality Planning, Production Part Approval Process, Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, Statistical Process Control)
  • Ability to thrive in structured and unstructured environments and make hard decisions about what is important and urgent under limited resources
Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, direct and conduct industrialization related activities within the Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Material Planning, New Product Introduction (NPI) and Supply Chain teams
  • Participate in Supplier Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews, guide suppliers in efficient use of poka-yokes, best methods of gauging, and correct tools or assembly equipment to use; provide feedback to Zipline Design teams to ensure alignment and incorporation of feedback during validation build phases and into mass production
  • Lead, track and improve Supplier manufacturing process development and launch readiness for design changes, new products and outsourcing initiatives
  • Lead and implement Supplier improvements in scalability, cost, and quality
  • Guide Suppliers in developing exceptionally robust processes and procedures to promote seamless and efficient production of high quality electrical components
  • Facilitate communication and clarification of technical requirements between Suppliers and Zipline’s Design, Internal Quality and Procurement teams; collaborate with Zipline Design, Internal Quality and Manufacturing/NPI to determine ideal performance specifications and Supplier metrics
  • Drive improvements utilizing Lean methodologies, Statistical Process Control (SPC), and supplier scorecards
  • Own should-cost modelling and support Global Sourcing Manager in pricing/negotiations
Desired Qualifications
  • Advanced technical degree with experience developing new products, managing the transition from prototype to mass production, and creating order from chaos
  • First principles problem solving using 8D, 5-Why, Pareto Charts and Fishbone Diagrams
  • Technical expertise in PCBA Assembly, PCB Fabrication, Carbon Fiber/Composites, Machining/Casting/Extruded/Stamping, Motor Manufacturing (Lamination, Winding, Magnets, etc), Injection Molding, inspection fixture design, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, metrology (Coordinate Measuring Machine/Optical Measurement Machine programming and inspection), manufacturing line setup, electro-mechanical assembly & testing
  • Experience managing vendors in various geographies with ability to assess industrialization capability, reliability and safety
  • Understanding of gated controls within a product development process and achieving results
  • Strong project management skills with ability to drive aggressive timelines with stakeholders

It provides end-to-end service, from drones and hubs to software and logistics, under government and enterprise contracts, earning revenue per delivery or per distribution center. The system enables zero-emission, instant logistics for medical supplies and consumer goods across multiple countries, with partners like Walmart and GNC. The goal is fast, reliable, scalable delivery that expands access to essential items, especially healthcare, through a fully integrated global network.

Zipline, an American robotics company operating the world's largest autonomous delivery system, has raised over $600 million and is now valued at $7.6 billion. The company has surpassed two million commercial deliveries and will expand to Houston and Phoenix in early 2026, with additional metros following later in the year. Zipline's US deliveries have grown approximately 15% week-over-week for seven months. The service delivers food, retail and healthcare products in as little as 10 minutes, with a median flight time of three minutes. New sites now reach 100 deliveries per day in just two days, compared to 10 weeks for the company's first Dallas location. The company exceeded its Q3 daily delivery volume target by 30% and reached its Q4 target six weeks early.

Zipline Receives $150M for HIV Care

The Elton John AIDS Foundation (EJAF) announced a $150 million funding initiative from the U.S. State Department to expand Zipline's drone delivery network for HIV care in Africa. This will increase outreach from 5,000 to 15,000 health facilities, benefiting 100 million people. The initiative has already delivered 86,000 antiretroviral treatments and empowered 38,600 adolescents to get tested. The program aims to eliminate HIV transmission in Africa through innovative healthcare delivery.
