About the job
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) license(s).
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and 8+ years of relevant experience in Structural or Geotechnical Engineering.
- Experience leading engineering or technical teams, with a track record of casting vision, driving accountability, and inspiring excellence.
- A strong engineering background with experience in product development and/or technical support, and in-depth knowledge of residential and commercial building construction.
- Proficiency in modeling software, including AutoCAD and Inventor, and expertise in steel and concrete.
- Interpersonal skills to cultivate strong connections with the team, customers, and external partners.
- Confidence in delivering presentations and training sessions.
- A proactive, solution-oriented approach to solving problems and communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing engineering and manufacturing team by attracting and retaining exceptional talent.
- Develop the team through coaching, feedback, mentorship, and meaningful opportunities for growth.
- Set clear expectations and performance goals while providing team members with support and autonomy.
- Ensure the team’s vision and direction align with Supportworks’ broader business goals.
- Collaborate to research, evaluate, and innovate new product offerings and optimize existing product offerings.
- Bring engineering, manufacturing, field technicians, and external partners together to test and validate products, and develop supporting documentation, including evaluation reports.
- Partner with manufacturing locations to ensure consistent product quality while improving efficiency and product cost management.
- Provide technical expertise to internal teams and consult with customers on applications and solutions.
- Create technical, sales, and marketing resources to promote products and services.
- Deliver training, presentations, and insights to educate the team, internal stakeholders, customers, engineers, and specifiers.
- Build strong, authentic relationships with customers and industry partners.
- Develop strategy and vision for commercial sales.
- Drive meaningful key performance indicators and financial goals for the team.
