The Role: BigHat Biosciences is seeking an energetic and motivated individual to help develop and execute our lab-based Developability assessments to further advance the Milliner Platform for engineering next generation AI-designed therapeutics.
The goals and responsibilities of this position include:
- Performing standard Developability assessments according to established SOPs for assessing antibody purity, stability, tolerability and biophysical properties
- Routinely performing diverse Developability workflows across all therapeutic programs with efficient time management and organization
- Carrying out R&D experiments towards new assay development or methods optimization under the guidance of senior Lab personnel
- Working closely with other Lab teams to coordinate sample preparation and hand-offs
- Regularly documenting experimental methods and findings according to company policies to help author and review relevant SOPs
- With the Engineering team, contributing to internal software tools to automate the capture and analysis of instrument-outputted data files
- Collaborating with the Automation team for the high-throughput scaling of established assays
- Contributing to and/or presenting data at team meetings throughout the organization
This role reports directly to the Developability Protein Scientist.
About You
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with 1-2 years of relevant industry experience
- Hands-on experience with protein therapeutics and modern Developability assessment methods such as accelerated stability/forced degradation, polyreactivity, self-reactivity, HIC, SEC, thermostability, and CE-SDS
- Experience with ELISA and MSD for running high-throughput multiplexed immunoassays
- Strong record-keeping and organizational skills
- Possess a can-do mindset for tackling the challenges associated with working in a dynamic fast-paced environment
- Nice-to-haves include prior experience with automation, antibody engineering, BLI, and mammalian cell culture
