  • Ability to conduct thorough legal research and create professional forms and documents for contracts, memoranda, guidance, and training materials.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders and external parties.
  • Ability to clearly communicate contractual and legal concepts for non-legal audiences.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy in preparing and proofreading documents and work product.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and complete them efficiently while maintaining high-quality work.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume workload with minimal supervision.
  • Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with legal research databases and contract management platforms.
  • Commitment and ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
  • Ability to reliably meet deadlines and maintain a dependable work schedule.
  • Ability to support the legal team and participate in inter-office meetings, requiring regular, predictable in-person presence.
  • Completion of at least 19 required Dallas College professional development hours per academic year.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check; some positions may also require a fingerprint check.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with preparing contracts and related legal documents, ensuring efficiency, clarity, and accuracy.
  • Assist internal stakeholders and departments with contract-related needs and guide them through the complete contract process, including intake, drafting, review, approval, and execution.
  • Coordinate with the Office of General Counsel team, internal departments, and stakeholders to gather necessary information, track deadlines, and resolve issues to facilitate timely contract completion or resolution of matters.
  • Under the guidance of the General Counsel and Associate General Counsel, create, update, organize, and maintain contract templates, forms, libraries, webpages, processes, workflows, and user guides to promote consistency and efficiency system-wide.
  • Assist with planning, developing, and delivering training for stakeholders and departments on contract processes, best practices, and use of systems and templates.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis as needed and prepare concise research summaries and recommendations.
  • Complete tasks and respond to requests promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain comprehensive, accurate, and up-to-date records of contracts, correspondence, and relevant documentation within designated systems.
  • Track and manage assigned tasks to ensure completion within set timeframes, including timely execution and follow-up as needed.
  • Provide administrative support, including document preparation and correspondence handling, scheduling and coordinating meetings, managing and updating attorneys' calendars, and other assigned administrative and office tasks.
  • Support attorneys with assignments and special projects as assigned.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience as a legal assistant, legal secretary, paralegal, or in contract drafting and review.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, and Excel), Adobe, and Workday.
  • Familiarity with legal research tools and contract management platforms.
  • Experience in higher education or public sector entities.
  • Bilingual or multilingual ability.
