Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience designing and constructing temporary structures.
  • A Professional Engineer license or eligibility to obtain one within Canada.
  • Strong experience working in Advance Design or other finite element software.
  • Expert-level knowledge and hands-on experience working with AutoCAD.
  • High familiarity with Revit and/or Civil 3D.
Responsibilities
  • Devise solutions to design and build temporary structures while ensuring the successful installation of infrastructure on-site.
  • Design temporary structures including special formwork, pile-driving jigs, platforms, temporary walkways and bridges, steel structures, cofferdams, and temporary supports.
  • Own the navigation of design risks and assist with risk mitigation planning.
  • Ensure designs and calculations align with industry codes and standards.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to crews during proposal, estimating, and installation phases.
  • Analyze project plans and specifications for permanent structures to identify potential opportunities and challenges.
  • Participate in internal engineering documentation verification processes.
  • Collaborate on preparing general methods and work sequences.
