Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Electronics and Communication.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in extra-low-voltage systems domains.
  • Strong knowledge of extra-low-voltage and information and communications technology systems, including fire alarm, closed-circuit television, access control, public address and voice alarm, intrusion detection, intercom, gate barriers, car parking, structured cabling, and network switches.
  • Knowledge of building management systems is advantageous.
  • Experience with presales and estimation for projects in India across various verticals.
  • Design expertise in extra-low-voltage and information and communications technology systems.
  • Ability to understand system specifications, perform product selections, and prepare deviation and compliance statements.
  • Ability to work on complex costing sheets covering materials, engineering, operations, and subcontractor costs.
  • Skill in articulating offered solutions through structured, high-standard technical proposal documents.
  • A strong network with third-party vendors in India.
  • Ability to learn quickly and apply problem-solving techniques.
  • Proficiency in written and verbal communication.
Responsibilities
  • Perform end-to-end presales engineering activities for fire and security opportunities within India across transportation, data center, commercial, industrial, fit-out, and key-account verticals.
  • Handle techno-commercial project activities covering fire alarm, closed-circuit television surveillance and security, access control, public address, parking management, structured cabling, network infrastructure, and building management systems.
  • Own technical considerations to help win projects and participate in the handover, takeover, and operations approval process for booking.
  • Review project inputs and intake forms shared by the front desk and sales teams.
  • Analyze requirements and initiate kickoff calls with the front desk after obtaining the CoE SFDC code and timeframe.
  • Prepare designs on floor plans and develop bills of quantities when none are available.
  • Identify potential issues and risks, communicate them to customers, and help mitigate them.
  • Coordinate with original equipment manufacturers and subcontractors to obtain suitable solutions and proposals.
  • Analyze original equipment manufacturer proposals and commercials against historical data and benchmark costs in the supply chain management database.
  • Prepare optimized techno-commercial costing sheets, proposals, and compliance statements.
  • Perform self-quality control and obtain second-level quality control from the delivery manager before submitting deliverables to the front desk.
  • Perform second-level quality control of deliverables prepared by other application engineers.
  • Regularly update SFDC and complete timesheets and assigned training on time.
  • Negotiate and follow up with original equipment manufacturers and internal operations and post-sales teams to secure appropriate project pricing.
  • Participate regularly in daily and cadence calls with the business team.
  • Develop strategies to increase the win rate.
  • Align work with organizational key performance indicators, including quality, cycle time, on-time delivery, win rate, and productivity.

  • Work experience with leading access control products, including Software House, Lenel, HID, Suprema, Bosch, and Honeywell.
  • Work experience with leading closed-circuit television products, including American Dynamics, Milestone, Genetec, Pelco, and Axis.
  • Knowledge of fire alarm products such as Notifier, Simplex, and EST (Edwards).
  • Knowledge of public address and voice alarm, structured cabling, and network infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Visio, and Excel.
  • Security and fire alarm systems product certifications.

Johnson Controls has acquired Nantum AI, a New York-based developer of AI algorithms for building energy efficiency, to enhance its OpenBlue digital ecosystem. Nantum AI's technology enables real-time optimisation of building airflow based on occupancy, extending OpenBlue's capabilities beyond central HVAC systems to include granular, system-wide control. Ring Capital joins Enerin's Series A to decarbonise high-temperature industrial heat

Enerin, a Norwegian industrial heat pump technology company, has completed the third tranche of its Series A round, adding Paris-based Ring Capital to its investor consortium. The round includes Climentum Capital, The Footprint Firm, Johnson Controls, Move Energy, PSV Hafnium and Momentum. The company's HoegTemp system delivers thermal energy at temperatures up to 250°C, targeting the industrial heat segment responsible for over 20% of global CO2 emissions. Each installation avoids approximately 36,000 tonnes of CO2 equivalent over its lifetime by replacing fossil-fuel boilers. Enerin is transitioning from development to serial production, with three active pilots and a recent contract with Roche. The funding will scale manufacturing operations and accelerate product development. CEO Arne Høeg said Ring Capital's involvement strengthens the company's ability to deploy solutions across Europe.

Insteel reports fastest revenue growth among building products stocks despite missing Q4 estimates

Insteel reported Q4 revenues of $159.9 million, up 23.3% year on year, but missed analysts' expectations by 1.3%. The steel wire reinforcing products manufacturer delivered mixed results, beating earnings per share estimates whilst falling short on revenue. Despite achieving the fastest revenue growth among the five commercial building products stocks tracked, Insteel recorded the weakest quarterly performance in the sector. The group collectively beat consensus revenue estimates by 1.2% and saw share prices rise 3.4% on average since earnings. Johnson Controls led the sector with revenues of $5.80 billion, up 6.8% year on year and exceeding expectations by 2.8%. Insteel's stock has risen 3.6% since reporting and currently trades at $34.90.

Johnson Controls to acquire Alloy Enterprises, boosting data center cooling efficiency by up to 35%

Johnson Controls has signed an agreement to acquire Alloy Enterprises, a Boston-based thermal management technology company, to strengthen its position in the data centre cooling market. Financial terms were not disclosed. Founded in 2020, Alloy Enterprises specialises in advanced direct liquid cooling components that can improve thermal management efficiency by up to 35% and reduce pressure drop by up to 75%, resulting in lower overall cooling system energy use. The company's proprietary Stack Forging manufacturing process creates single-piece components with embedded microgeometries for maximum heat transfer. The acquisition complements Johnson Controls' existing thermal management portfolio and aligns with its strategy to deliver differentiated cooling solutions for AI-driven data centres. The transaction is expected to close in fiscal Q3, subject to regulatory approvals.
