About the Job

Requirements

  • A Master's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with proven experience in a similar product engineering role.
  • Education or experience building digital circuits, ASIC testing using scan tools, Python, and C programming.
  • Custom BIST APG programming for memory testing.
  • Experience with the Linux operating system.
  • Ability to engage in hands-on bench testing of products to uncover issues and formulate tests.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Design Engineering to conduct pre-silicon simulations that validate test strategies and circuits for Test, and provide feedback to Design Engineering, Test Engineering, and other Product Engineering groups.
  • Support pre-silicon checklist tasks and collaborate with Test Engineering to identify vital tester resources.
  • Collaborate with Test Engineering and Product Engineering to adjust test programs for particular product needs and ensure silicon performance aligns with expectations.
  • Support Test Engineering with test-program debugging, data analysis, and test development using AI assistants.
  • Assist fabrication sites and process integration teams with test creation to improve effective process feedback.
  • Debug and identify failure root causes using test and experimental data, electrical and physical analysis results; use these results to modify testing strategies, improve product quality, and enhance yield.
  • Monitor yields against projections and promptly investigate root causes when projections are not met.
  • Provide technical training and expertise, including on-the-job training for new engineers, assistance with data interpretation, serving as a product-specific point of contact, and attending technical seminars.
  • Build AI-powered tools for the local team to advance processes and develop optimized test strategies and features.

Desired Qualifications

  • Extract and analyze high-volume production data using JMP and/or Python.
  • Assist fabrication sites and process integration through the creation of tests aimed at improving effective process feedback.
  • Perform hands-on bench testing of engineering hardware and Coordinated Circuits.
  • Have experience with circuit simulations using SPICE and Verilog.
  • Have knowledge of semiconductor fabrication processes.

About the Company

Micron Technology

Makes memory and storage chips for AI and PCs

Micron Technology designs and manufactures memory and storage chips, mainly DRAM and NAND flash, used in data centers, PCs, phones, cars and industrial equipment. It is one of only three companies that make HBM, the stacked high-bandwidth memory placed beside processors in AI servers, and it is the largest memory chipmaker based in the United States. Unlike chip designers that outsource production, Micron runs its own fabs and assembly sites in the United States and across Asia. It earns money by selling chips, memory modules and solid-state drives to cloud providers, device makers and distributors. Micron was founded in 1978 and is headquartered in Boise, Idaho.
