Requirements
  • Nurse Practitioners must hold current national board certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner through ANCC or AACN.
  • Nurse Practitioners must have at least six months of intensive care unit experience within the past two years.
  • Nurse Practitioners must hold current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification.
  • Nurse Practitioners must document clinical activity within the past 24 months, such as a case log or procedural log.
  • Nurse Practitioners must comply with the hospital Medical Staff Bylaws for Allied Health Professionals.
  • Physician Assistants must graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program with structured clinical experience.
  • Physician Assistants must be licensed by the Medical Board of California to practice under an approved supervising physician.
  • Physician Assistants must hold First Assistant certification in Surgical Services if applicable.
  • Physician Assistants must document clinical activity within the past 24 months, such as a case log or procedural log.
  • Physician Assistants must comply with the hospital Medical Staff Bylaws for Allied Health Professionals.
  • Candidates must demonstrate proficiency with computer skills and software programs used for documentation activities and report generation.
  • Candidates must be able to perform the essential physical job requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive medical care to critically ill patients in an acute care hospital setting.
  • Work in collaboration with supervising physicians and the interdisciplinary team to evaluate, manage, and treat patients requiring intensive care.
  • Assess patients and interpret diagnostic information.
  • Perform approved procedures.
  • Provide life-saving interventions as necessary.
